Not having a crack at this bloke he is our star and a champion of the club.

Just asking the question, how do people see this bloke currently as our leader is he the right man for the job?

He is Type that I don't think was the Motivator that Maxy was and is more Lead by Action's on the Ground.

Same as the Head Coach Bucks as not great Motivator

Of all the threads and all the criticism that's bobbed up, this is one of the least warranted, and oft repeated. It's been done to death in multiple threads.

No.

I see him as the guy we set our sights on once we dispose of Buckley and Eddie.

Yes absolutely.
Because? He is super consistent.
And not sure anyone else is really ready to lead etc.

And he tosses the coin nicely too

Could have been an AFL legend......may now struggle to make the HOF.

With a new coach, we might build a team to allow him to fulfil his destiny as premiership captain
He won't be in the hall of fame one day?
Did I read that right?
He'll definitely get an afl hall of fame one day.
Multiple best and fairest; sublime skills; norm smith adds a bit a mayo to the CV
Multiple AA.
He's rock solid gold.

God. The coach, the president and now the captain. Give it a break!

The president and coach have shown they need to go, even the biggest fan boys should be able to see that by now.

How could you possibly know that? What people don't seem to get is how the game works Pendlebury is a mid and Maxy was a defender. It is a defenders role to set up behind the ball and be the eyes for the players infront of them making sure everyone is in their right positions is the structure and calling someone back if there is a man out. It is a mids role to win the ball at the contest that's why you always saw Maxy yelling and pointing. A captain should be the person who is the best leader at the club and that is the person who drives the standards on and off the field and sets a good example

Do you think Pendles is currently doing that?

Just because you're not a demonstrative leader doesn't actually mean you're not a good leader. Would be nice to have some demonstrative ones too though
I think that is Darcy, in time.

Setting the standards, absolutely.
That's what I hear.
Gavin brown was a quiet type, led by example.
Can't question the work ethic of Scott.

Not to set the cat amongst the pigeons, but what the heck.
That's only one interpretation.
I'd rather a full club review at seasons end.
That way considered decisions can be made.
Big footy can become a bit of a bubble at times or an echo chamber for whichever opinion one swings too.

I am sales manager, I need to make sure my team hit targets and also having to sell and hit targets myself, I'm sure we all have jobs here that have certain requirements.

If I had 4 years of results not hitting targets and going backwards every year, I would be out the door.

Can't knock what he does on the field but our culture seems toxic at the moment.

If Heath Shaw were still here, can you imagine the spray he'd be giving the defenders? I miss him most out of all our recent departures.

Why don't you share what your contact is saying about Pendles leadership skills before we pass judgment?

Yeah but where are the failings coming from? And who is responsible for them?

I think people see us do bad, and start drawing any links to help explain it all away.

Pendlebury doesn't fail us on the field. I haven't heard anything but unsubstantiated speculation he does poorly off field.

It's a bit rough to target the man when there is nothing much to support the assertion he is a poor leader.

That reply was In response to Eddie and Bucks not Pendles.
