What in your opinion would be our best forward set-up this year, if everyone was 100% fit?

This would be mine:

Garlett Henderson Betts

Simpson Kreuzer Walker

Garlett and Betts in the pockets with both getting runs in the midfield throughout the game(probably rotating with Curnow/Judd/Murph)

Hendo works much better as a FF imo, Kreuze to be a permanent CHF when he comes back from the knee injury. Walker to be a lead up flank and Simpson can be the transition from the midfield into the 50.

Houlihan is in there on a HFF when fit. And I'd put Waite ahead of Hendo.

Garlett, Henderson, Betts
Kreuzer, Waite, Houlihan

With special guest appearances from Simpson, Warnock, Judd, Walker.

HF: Houlihan, Kreuzer, Waite
FF: Garlett, Henderson, Betts.

with Walker rotating through.

and we'll prob start seeing it very soon! i'd say after the bye, all should be fit to play.

Interesting question is, is Walker a short or a tall. Ideally you want 3 talls 3 shorts for mine, but what is Walker. I am going to call him short, so really I am saying lets replace Hammer with Kruze. Dont think many could argue with that. Betts needs to find form, Collins can be depth when he gets his act together, but essentially only one change.

Garlett, Waite, Betts,
Kruze, Hendo, Walker

Would it be possible to play Hammer & 206 in the same side and rotate them off the bench. Leaving Kruzer as a permanent fwd?

If so then I like this, it gets walker out of the square and stops him spoiling the big fwds, gets Garlett out where he can use his speed.

Garlett, Waite, Walker,
Kruze, Hendo, Betts

I'd like to see:

HF: Hoops Hendo Lucas
FF: Jeff Waite Eddie

Walker would be the other option for Lucas but I'm not sure he's got the smarts to play well at HF consistently.

I reckon Lucas would be perfectly suited to the high half forward role, has good run, reads the play and has defensive nouse.

Could also see White playing this role.

Hoops is still our best defensive forward and hope he gets back sooner rather than later. Someone like Kerr or Collins (development permitting) to take over when he retires.

I quite like that structure Bs72 :thumbsu:

I prefer

Garlett Waite Simpson

Walker Kreuzner Betts

Hendo is woeful

I think people are being a bitt too harsh on Hendo just based on the Essendon game. It was his first game back and last year he was playing superbly in the second half of the season. I prefer Waitey playing up back and then running down the wing to provide a tall target.

Waite will play CHF all year bookmark it.

Hendo is 6 weeks away from playing good football and furthermore no chance he could be the number 1 fwd.

He needs waite to play fwd so he doesn't get the best defender. Once K, Bower and Watson come back i simply can't see him getting a game.

Hendo is a good player, he proved that in the last half of last season when we didn't see much of you funnily enough. He played like a guy coming back from a long break after having bone shaved off his hip on the weekend, maybe he wasn't ready but long term he's going to be a good forward for us and you'll be eating your words.

send Thornton forward, he's got amazing hands!!!1!101!!!

Agree, Just needs to find some consistency in the magoos and then come back in as a third tall, great hands and a great kick for goal. Needs to learn to chase and tackle more, but then again so does Henderson who was pathetic effort wise on the weekend, poor first, second and third effort,:D

Yeah spot on, Hendo has had zero pre-season and for a big man that is a season killer, brought him in way to early needs lots of work into his legs before he is at his best. We need to do what we did last year in the same situation, play Setanta at FF for first half of the year and then bring Hendo back when he has the fitness and form to warrant a spot. Kreuser will take till nearly the end of the year before he finds form after a knee reco:thumbsu:

I don't rate Kreuzer as a permanent forward. Much more damaging around the ground pinch hitting as a forward.

Mine would be:

Betts Henderson Walker
Garlett Waite Houlihan

Walker, Garlett Waite and Houlihan all have the ability to press.

Then rotate your mids and ruckmen.

My perfect forward set up is anything with Houlihan in it, how far off is he?

So far up forward we've got the brilliant but unpredictable Garlett, "Brain Snap" Waite, the Collins train-wreck, "Stone Hands" Hampson, the scared and feeble Henderson, and all the while Betts and Walker are on the missing persons list.

We just need one player up there with a cool head, poise, and finishing skills.
