Like the fact that he busted some moves considering that his namesake is supposed to be some ****** dancer. But all this is some great news.
CHRIS Judd is as relaxed as you might expect of a young man away with a few mates at a luxurious beach resort in Asia.
The Carlton captain and the seven other members of the club's leadership group are flying the flag for the Blues in Penang in support of Tourism Malaysia's $1.5 million sponsorship this year.
"We're still doing some training, but I'd be lying if I said it was hard work," he said last night.
"We've had three of the biggest weeks of pre-season training that players can tolerate, so the whole group's got an easy week this week.
"It's pretty relaxing . . . you come overseas and you're anonymous."
So much so, the skipper let his (revitalised) hair down on Sunday night.
"I may have produced a couple of moves on the dance floor which are regrettable," he said.
He is unusually excited about the year ahead.
He said he is in "pretty good" nick (they say he is close to perfect) and has genuine expectations about team success.
"There's a lot of expectation internally. We don't want to be just making up the numbers," Judd said.
"I think it would be a blue if we didn't play finals this year. Something will have gone wrong. Either the players haven't done their job, or the coaches, or there's injuries."
As for his own condition, a problem for the past two seasons, he said he is feeling great. "My pre-season last year was non-existent, the year before wasn't great either," he said. "I'm feeling pretty good."
No hint of the chronic groin problem that plagued him in 2007-08, although there may be a little niggle in a shoulder, yet not serious enough to dim his optimism.
"Nothing worth noting," he said. "I'm pretty excited about this year."
He is equally excited about the arrival of former St Kilda champion Robert Harvey as a member of the coaching panel.
"I was rapt when we got him. I haven't had a great deal to do with him so far, but, certainly, once the games start, I'll be looking to use him a bit more," Judd said.
"We've had a chat, nothing in depth.
"There's a few things I want to ask him about."
Like?
"I'd like to know how I'm perceived by opposition clubs.
"What they say going into games -- things like, 'We'll do this to him, do that; this is what he's no good at at; this is the area where we should try to exploit him'.
"I'll be picking his brains. He was an amazing player, just a never-stand-still player, which I'm not. He's an enormous resource."
Judd and his teammates flew into Penang on Sunday afternoon on what is known at Princes Park as Air Pratt, the private jet of club benefactor and former president Richard Pratt.
It was a first-time experience for most, including youngsters Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs.
After an easy day Monday, the group played golf yesterday before visiting an orangutan sanctuary then hosting the official dinner to meet sponsors. The players fly home tomorrow.
