Trade rumors hot up as star bat sighted at House of Gumby
The Geelong Gumbies recent scintilating form could get an even bigger boost if recent rumours about star SEM Batsmen Ricketts come to fruition. Ricketts, perenially moved with a link to the Gumbies, and who last year gave his word he would don a Gumbie cap in season 2006, was yesterday spotted at Gumbies headquarters for a medical examination.
With batting collapses a regular part of the scenery at the House of Gumbie this season (especially when Nanana Catman is bowling
) The adittion of Ricketts to a team that has won 6 of its last 7 games would be a very very handy addition, and could easily catapault the Gumbies into finals contention in the test competition, and further enhance their one-day premiership chances.
It is believed the Gumbies are willing to be quite generous at the trade table, with All-Rounder and test century maker Andrew Bogut on the table, with also the possibility that star, albeit non posting spinner Nathan Ablett could also move to accomodate Ricketts adition.
