The Dockers weren't concerned about losing him and have since conceded he should never have been picked so high in the draft.

I'm not saying he has top 5 pick trade potential or even first round potential, but IMO he does have trade potential, purely because of the type of player he could be. FWIW very few tall players have reached that potential at his age.

And unless I imagined those threads on BF wondering in amazement how pundits still rated Brown, I think it's fair to suggest that he does have some fans out there. As I said in my initial post, the opinion of pundits means very little to me, but I'm sure there would be coaches out there who think the same.

good, moran has shown more than him and hasn't played the game nearly as long, good luck to him but i'm not disappointed. Along with le cras he was a good vfl player but not up to AFL, both never demanded a game ala ash watson. His AFL performances gave a little hope but if you can't demand a game in the 3rd last side in the positions they were in with no obvious player dominating that same spot, u must be delisted. They could be stopping the next boomer or hird all players who came late in the draft. Even our second pick another harro perhaps... we can only hope.
I feel a little upset and sorry but in a draft like this good riddance.

The benefit of the two years for Brown IMO, is that even if he has another crap year I suspect he'll still have trade value. So we give him the chance to get his career back on track, with the fallback of getting something in return if it doesn't work out.

If Perry has a crap year and we look to move him on I think we'd find it difficult, and might be stuck with him on the list for the second year, or having to pay out the second year of his contract.

I don't think Brown had enough credits in the bank to justify a two year deal. If he has another crap year, then he'll have at best, a token trade value. And like Perry (if we gave him a two year deal), we're stuck with him on the list. Could we carry Brown for three poor years?

Good to see the club call his bluff, just might have punched his ticket out of the AFL. With such a strong draft I can't see too many recycled's making it and I don't think Perry will attract any great interest.

Best case for Joel is we redraft him and give him the one year that was originally on the table or he sneaks on to to the list of a weak club and gets exposed as the mediocre player he is.

Funny. It was some halfwit coach playing favourites with our backmen that has led to his delisting. From what I saw, I have to say I wasn't that impressed with Perry. But comparing him to B**** I would take Perry in a second. Out of a sh_it player and a half-decent player (Perry) I think I'll have the half decent player thanks.

Remember, its going to be a massive task to get an upside from B****, because he's so far behind, wasting almost 2 seasons (minus first 3 games).

We don't need another Josh Smith (no offense to Josh), we just can't have too many big CHFs the same size as him.

I assume he is similar to Smith but I will be happy to be proven wrong.
