I posed this question this morning at the start of "The Rose Affair" but it seems to have gotten lost in the cluster******** which has ensued -

What do the people who invest in CFC Investments(Smorgan Wilson Malouf Rose and their mates) stand to gain personally out of the redevelopment of Princes Park? Are the "Unity" members more interested in the profit to be made as investors than fixing our football club? C'mon, genuine people with honorable intentions couldn't possibly screw up as bad as Rose did could they? And of course he'll do whatever he can even if he isn't on the board to make Carlton Community Park work - doesn't he stand to make a **********load of cash out of it?

If the kind of money at stake is $30+ million intially and then ongoings like tenancy, of course people are going to say and do anything they have to to get their slice of the pie. The more this goes on the more I think these people are taking us for a ride for their own benefit.

And to think this whole property development could just be electioneering bulltish anyway.

The investors stand to make more money from the development of the ground than the club will. What they are offering is the typical you beaut scheme of " Give me a chance of making an enormous amount of money and when it works the small % you get (read Carlton Football Club) will be enough to pay off your debt". It is what I would describe as open and honest exploitation. The unity ticket have been clear and open about their intent to exploit the resources of the Carlton Football Club to their enormous benefit and partly in favour of the club itself. This is not the issue. The issue's to consider are:

1) The plans are not concrete and approved

2) The primary focus of the unity ticket is obviously not the football club

3) The unity tickets process is very divisive.

4) The unity ticket's running of the board and campaign does not produce the stable environment for the players.

5) Football is not the primay concern of the unity ticket

And if this whole thing go's bad........

Do not believe for one second that the club will be safe!

I could tell the world I have a million dollars too. It'd be in the public domain and it'd be bullsh1t too. Take it you believe evrything a politician says.

We'll have to wait and see on that one, hopefully it will be safe. Be terrific. Can't say i'm not just a wee bit sceptical though.
