Whilst i'm still shattered , at the start of 2008 i predicted us to finish 8th ( and a LOT of cards had to fall our way ).

So , we've finished 7th with a ( on paper ) weaker list.
I''m not gonna lick the boys arses ( esp after todays effort ) , but this season is still a pass mark for mine.

This year was ALWAYS gonna be an up-and-down season ( which tends to happen when half your team are kids. )

I'm more optimistic for the next 3-4 years today than i was in march.

Where are we on the CLOCK , gents ??

Who really gives a hit where we thought we'd finish at the start of the year. Again we did better than most expected, and again stuffed up in finals. It's crap, we finished 5th had the home final, and dished up shit.

Very disappointing.

I think overall how we played really just exposed us for what we are - an average side, with flashes of what were capable of here and there.

Another pick 10 in the draft, hopefully we can make the most of it - we need star power.

Today's performance was a reflection of our season, we played in patches

I expected to make the finals, I did not expect to make top 4, however I expected to win today, Collingwood had a younger side in then ours

IMO we can learn a fair bit from the Pies, we need to inject more pace and some different types of players

we need to stop recruiting the same type of footballers, it's been a long time since we have had one or two game breakers in the side

i am leaning towards recruiting Didak, we need some spark and magic

totally agree

STAR Power / Game breaker is what is missing

we need to shoot for Didak

Crows seems to have a great future, But you also got to take your chance when it's there. Seems Adelaide has forgotten that in the past few years, More of a mental problem than skills/injuries atm

Good season ruined by a few lacklustre performances; like today.

Great future though - but it's time to build it around the kids.

Goodwin/Edwards/McLeod should all probably stay, but they need to be our second string next year - impact players used off the bench.

Our core group of youth is bloody sensational - it's time to let them take charge of the team.

Can start with a new Captain to lead from the front in games like today...

Today was 50/50 at best - we need a big strong forward who can kick....in the end - we are where we probably should be with the players we got.

As a club we want to play consistent finals football, consistently shit finals football.

I'm going to contact the AFC/AFL for a $30 refund on my $40 ticket, because I only saw 1 quarter of football from the Crows.

Whoever it was that kicked that hospital ball high in the air when attempting to centre the ball in the last quarter when we were 7 points down resulting in a turn over and goal which killed our momentum and lost us the game, they should be placed in a cannon and launched into the sun, I don't know who kicked it as it was on the other side of the ground, It was the single dumbest piece of football I have ever seen in my entire life, 3 players were free and running forward, a sure goal putting us 1 point down was going to result. I have a sneaky suspicion it was soon to be dumped Captain Simon Goodwin, (was a) great player, is an average Captain.

hm.. i put 100 on adelaide at $1.72.. its fair to say i lost money i could have spent on grocerys.. makes me think..

positives out of today? i thought mackay was very good early.. bock played well.. maric was good in the ruck..

do we have the players that will step up and become better than ricciuto/mcleod/goodwin/edwards/bassett were at there peak..? cause thats what we need.. to find some A-Grade players to make the next step

How will we fare next year?

We need Sellar, Tippett, Walker, Petrenko, Kite, Jacky, Otten, Cook, Mackay, Dangerfield, etc to get plenty of game time next year, even if it is a step back.

With the Coast and WS teams REALLY affecting the draft from 10-12 ish, we cant afford to be going into 2010 with Shirley, Doughty, Stevens, etc etc etc being the wrong side of thirty and the above mentioned players having played under 10 games each

I saw alot of Positives in 2008 as compared to 2007. The team never gave up when they slipped to 8-8. The team kept on fighting and fighting to get into the finals. We came so close to a top 4 finish, so so close and that would have made a huge difference. That 0.8% gap, hmmm I don't know what else to say. I think we were very unlucky this year. We should have finished top 4 but we didnt, that's life. But there were alot of positives to take out of this team in 2008 and hopefully we can build on that in 2009 (?), hopefully.

I am confident that Dangerfield and D-Mac will be regulars in 2009

Walker, Otten Petrenko, Kite should be ready to go for next year and will add pressure for selection

However Cook Jacky and Sellar have some work in front of them and need to earn the right through hard work and performances

agree, we are on the up :thumbsu:

Agree with you Subaru, but we had a sensational performer today in the forward line in Stevens,...and we still got belted. It goes deeper than a quick fix forward.

But, perspective - this side has thirteen different players to last year's, and they improved one rung up the ladder in a much tighter and harder year than last year.

That's very encouraging really. Next season will be interesting. Will we improve with young players having played a season together? Power had virtually the same side as last year, but in a tougher year, when the going got tough, they were exposed horribly. Wonder what we will do?

BTW....where are all the Power flogs??
