I agree too.

Don't really want a console yet until prices go down and PES 2011 ,Fifa 11 hits the shelves.

Plus once the mods do their work,PES will look shinier than KB's noggin.

I'm hooked. Just starting my 3rd season on it.

PES invented this mode and EA copied it because the Jap games(winning 11) eons ago had that option.

FIFA 09 on pc is a hires ps2 version and my controller wouldn't work.

Tried the renaming registry trick but the analog sticks on the ps2 controller were useless.

PES -controller smoother than butter.

I'd been planning to buy PES (on PC) for a while, but it wasn't available anywhere so in the meantime I gave FIFA a go since everyone had been raving it about it. I gotta say, the more I played FIFA the more I wanted to play PES instead. I guess I just wasn't used to the gameplay. I hear FIFA is a lot better on consoles than what I experienced on PC - I'd hope it is.

Have since bought PES 2009 and it has its ups and downs. These are my main gripes:

• 
  Your computer-controlled teammates. They seem to come over and gravitate to the wrong opposition player at the wrong time. I've found myself becoming more of a zone defender now with the player I'm controlling, mainly to help my clueless backmen cut off through balls.

• The effective lobbed through ball by the opposition seems to be back as well - I think this was used a lot by the computer in PES5/6? - annoys the hell out of me.

• The direction my own through balls seem to be a lot different from previous PES versions. So many times have I pressed the through ball button only to see it either a)travel about 5 metres too short from my teammate allowing the opposition to pick it off, or b)travel too far in the forward direction rather than across the pitch. I guess i got to use it more judiciously (and I don't have the hang of manual passing either).

The game is definitely an improvement on 2008 though. They slowed it down. It's not as easy to just run down the flanks (though the patented stop-and-go move still seems pretty effective). As always the gameplay is satisfying - you gotta love just maintaining possession and peppering shots at goal.

Like others, I've been playing Become a Legend the most for some reason. When I was setting up my player I felt like Milhouse playing Bloodstorm: "This is the greatest game ever, and all I've done is enter my name!"

Felt great when I scored my first league goal with my scrub - got so excited I bumped the table after scoring and my screen when blank. Started panicking but thankfully the game came back and my 1st goal was officially in the books
Any ideas on what is the best way to get a good Player Rating after each game (besides scoring and assisting of course)? Currently playing as an attacking midfielder and waiting for may stamina to improve so I can finally play out the full 90 mins.

I just scored twice to bring us back from the dead after being 0-1 down 70 minutes in vs Sevilla (as Ajax) in a Champions League tournament.

You betcha I was happy.

One thing I've noticed in Fifa is when the ball goes out the players go into this scripted slomo animation and it looks shabby.


All I can say is the reviewers when reviewing Fifa for pc,must've been playing the console versions cause there is no way known that it is better than PES on pc.

Alot of people have been bagging the menus in Pes but I think it's one of it's strong points.

Very nicely done.

All they need to fix is having a full roster of Champions League teams.

But I have a feeling some modders will do that already.

Just downladed an options file for ps3. Now all EPL and Spanish clubs have proper emblems and kits.

I find that in Become a Legend mode there are a few frustrating things that I don't think you are always credited for.

I made a beautiful run and got the ball and dodged some opponents before delivering a great strike. The keeper pulled off a terrific save to stop it but the rebound went straight into my teammate's waiting feet for a goal. I didn't even get credited an assist and only got a ranking of 7 which was a bit low since I had made 18 completed passes (out of 24), several intercepts and had scored our first goal! Didn't get man of the match since some guy who delivered the corner which I scored off got 7.5

Only one have I seen an 8 and that was when Rooney put past about 3 goals against us.
