Poor mans Mark Jacko Jackson, but did do a couple of great handstands in the night games at Waverley preseason

In fact, a couple of years later, Terry Keays took a screamer in the same preseason comp.

I had Willo's number on my jumper

an absolute nuff nuff, how he got a game in the eagles side of the early 90's is anyones guess.

and as a commentator he makes Don Scott look like a fence sitter when he used to call the Hawks games. Wilson should not be allowed anywhere near a broadcasting box.

what a tool.

In an era where we had very few players to feel good about, he was pretty good for us.

He was really prepared to take on the opposition with his run and added some flair. Bad teams need those type of players to make barracking for the side worthwhile. How forgettable were his teammates at the time!!!!

When he went to a good team he was able to slot in pretty well and be an important part of a premiership.

Good in a crap side and good in a good side.

Agree. He had a dip every week in very very ordinary sides. Along with Tony Free was the only player with a bit of mongrel. Wish 18 Peter Wilsons we would have won many more games.

God knows why we played him at full forward at times,I guess we had limited options.

Now you bring back painful memories - how many times were we getting beaten and KB's only move was to throw willo to full forward - usually at 3/4 time when the game was well and truely gone.

Bit don't start me on KB's coaching - at least willo gave us something to laugh about every now and again.

Totally agree !

I can`t believe that people rate him .

His first season was good but for the last two years it was painfully obvious that he didn`t give a stuff about the club . He just fulfilled his contract , took the money and ran . And in those days he was on a pretty tidy contract for then .

Personally i can`t stand the bloke and reckon he robbed the RFC blind .

I remember we used to go to the old " Richmond Social Club " back in those days which used to be open to 7 o`clock in the morning and him and Trent Nichols used to be permanent fixtures, along with others .

He was a bad influence and was just full of p..s and wind .

I`ll never forget a grand final against Hawthorn , I think it was the Waverly GF in 91 , he was on his own on a forward flank and someone sent a pretty ordinary ball his way , kick went higher than it went further , anyway , it gave Gary Ayres time to leave his man and head full steam at Wilson . Upon hearing the footsteps coming at him from the side , Wilson took a little glance , saw who it was coming and just stepped right out of his road and let Ayres mark the ball .

It was one of the most gutless things i have seen . I wonder if anyone else remembers that incident ? Pretty well sums the bloke up for mine .

there is also a beaut little story i`ll tell about him at a Practice match at Bayswater in 89 against north .

thats not too mention the mouthful of expletives that came our way in a pre season game at waverley when someone reminded wilson he wasn't in WA anymore when he hobbled past on the boundary line..."get fu%$^& c@#$ face" was the terse reply...magnificent stuff!

as a matter of fact it would have been a fitting send off when he left Punt rd for all delivered in the 3 years he was there

Good head for radio I say

I remember a game at Waverley against St Kilda (or maybe West Coast) I think, where the game was close in the last quarter and Wilson had the ball running down the middle and he went to touch the ball on the ground with one hand instead of bouncing and he left the ball behind and the opposition got the ball and scored the winning goal lol
