Great game by Pev again.

A lot of other players should look at his work ethic and learn a thing or two.

If I recall correctly he was pretty good in the second half of last year and is currently our No. 1 midfielder.

I wouldnt go that far. Stanton still gets the no.1 tag for me. His engine is A grade and his skills are dangerous. Id have Pev 3rd behind Winders.

he actually played well late last year.

Midfield needs a blend of everything, and no doubt Pev and Heff are complimenting instead of taking positions of other "speedy" players.

Sydney have a very similar midfield style. Kirk, Crouch and Bolton are all hard at it players and you couldnt say any of them are super quick. Kirk and Crouch's skills are not much better that Watson and Peverill's. In reality, as long as the mdfielders can beat their opponents on the day, it makes winning the game that much easier. The guys you have named can all beat their opponents, no matter who they are (except maybe WCE midfield), so there is no need to tinker with the makeup of the team.

Stanton is very good but A grade skill. He cant kick straight at goal to save his life. Pev is playing better at present than Stanton and similar level to Winders.

You might want to watch Stanton from this year rather than 3 years ago. His skills including his kicking are great. Misses the odd sot at goal, but who doesn't?

I think this emphasizes the point of not picking injured players.

Last year both Pev and JJ had injury riddled starts to the year - both finally got fit hlaf way through the year and both played well from then on.

It is important to manage your injuries wisely - which is why i am happy with JJ and campo playing for bendigo - no walk up start - form and fitness are required - else confidence can fall away too easily.

His output is second to none in our side. You can always rely on his to do something with it and move it forward quickly. Stanton is still and will always be in front of Peverill.

I hope even if we start losing to continue to play winders/watson/stanton etc and bring in some of the other rookies. I dont want to see campo thrown in there if we start losing some games and wreck their confidence. I want to see campo play HF if anywhere, JJ too..
