I'm a wrap for Pfeiffer, but I think we forget he is still a rookie. I would think he will play 10-12 games at a minimum. He has been in the system a couple of years and has a mature body, so perhaps a full season if his form holds.

Hampson has leapfrogged a couple and is clearly our number two ruckmen behind Cloke. If his body holds up, and he can stop getting hit in the nuts, I would expect 15 games or so.

Kruez will play round one, and I would have a guess at 10-12 games for the year. Should make some dollars early in the season.

Only a Carlton rookie as in his first year with us. Hasn't he played games for the Crows? He is senior listed as well.

No never played a senior game with them.
Fair enough. Read a bunch of Crows fans carrying on about how good he was, figured he must have actually played a couple of games.

I think that he played in their seconds team in the SANFL :)

Just wanting to know anyones opinions on whether or not these guys will get a game this year. Thoughts??

  1. I've penciled in Pfeiffer as a def. emergency of quite good value in Supercoach $94,200 -could be a good "cash cow." ...... game time -definitely
  2. Hampson is also good value as a back up ruckmen at a little over $100,000... game time -more than likely
  3. Kreuzer is a better pick but is more expensive than Hampson,$144,200 but will have more efficient disposal, because Hampson is relatively new to aussie rules........ game time -dependent on form/more than likely.

My understanding Pfeiffer was poised for dubut on several occasions - but missed out because of injury and 'discipline' issues. Adelaide can have an overbearing and insular 'attitude' ethic that lends itself to clique formation. This is a manifestation of the isolation and expectations the state places on them. You know that "pride of SA" thing.

My bet is he fell out with those who count and it was not lacking skills that got him delisted.

For us this is probably the best thing that could have happened. He is a genuine ball winner and I rate him in our top 10% for footskills. Given a second chance - I expect he will take it with extra zeal and conviction.

An articulate BF poster, who would have thought

It's funny you say that, because a lot of my friends from Adelaide say the same thing about Port - you're either in with Choco and his mates, or you're out, regardless of talent (see Brad Symes).

<chuckles> as opposed to that "old Dark Navy Blues" thing

OR.....he could be Laurence Angwin.....

Seriously though, the boy CAN play, he is just a meat head and kept getting into trouble, to the extent that he lost the respect and confidence of the team. To blame Adelaide's expectations on his lack of progress is to empower him to continue to make the same mistakes.....call a spade a spade - he stuffed up. I hope for the lad's sake that he indeed grasps his second chance with "zeal and conviction" :thumbsu:

To be honest i think that Hampson is already our number 1 ruckman... dispute me if im wrong but he has started every game in the ruck and has been by far our most dominant ruckman all preseason.

BTW in regards to the topic they will all have extended game time this year.
