Is It me or have Demons pulled off a great Coup getting last years Pick 3 who will have better body for 2013 and this year Pick 9 instead of having Pick 2 and 20 if no exchange was done.

Meaning 2 top 10 picks in 2 years and GWS even better in 2013 having picks 1 and 2 !!!!

Worrying for GWS in a few years will be too strong with all them top midfielders. Geez if only We would have been this smart when we started in our dealings.

Imagine having Lloyd Matthew, The Adelaide Wizard (forgotten his name), Mitchell and Hodge in our team, Belly at his prime !!!! Would have been a different future :(:(

I wouldn't worry, GWS will just continue to trade off their players in the coming years for high draft picks. It's more fun than actually playing footy to them.

It looks like this sometimes doesn't it! Like a Groundhog thing where every year they trade their best players for picks 1 & 2 (who in turn can look forward to being traded for picks 1 & 2!)

This is likely to continue for some time too as they will finishing last for a few years to come.

They are basicaly just a conduit for the rest of the comp to get early draft picks, once they have been through them.
Highly doubtful the AFL would be happy with this.

And still they get 6000 to a home game. A club with no true presence to begin with, with all the best young players. What a waste of talent.

I really think GWS is not going to be a powerhouse. They've stuffed up their strategy big time. No stars want to go there (Shaw, Mumford, Ward and Scully don't quite cut it). The continued beltings will just instill a Melbourne-like losing mentality that will be very hard to break. They'll lose gun youngsters ... e.g. Tyson and possibly Adams (for Shaw) this trade period.

Nobody wants to get flogged by 10 goals every week. Wouldn't be surprised to see a mass exodus next year, like we see at Brisbane with their recent draftees (Polec, Yeo, Docherty, Longer) wanting out. Then GWS can load up on more draft picks, and continue their endless cycle of being completely shit.

They deserve all the poor fortune they get. However, it is disappointing that much of the young talent will be wasted. It makes the competition poorer. The standard would be much higher if these top picks would be allowed to develop properly at other clubs.

Notsureifserious..

I agree with Alfonz, if the AFL was still a 16 team comp then the comp would be at a higher standard.

IMO the young players who have been drafted by GWS would be doing a proper apprenticeship at another AFL club instead of coping beltings and chasing tail all game, while not always being ready for the rigors of AFL and risking injuries that can seriously prevent their development.

Not sure where to post this, but Collingwood apparently have done a 3 way trade with Sydney and the Eagles. They get White and pick 6 for picks 11, 31 and 49. Seems like a good deal for Collingwood.
In this deal Sydney only get pick 44 for White, Essendon can get stuffed if they think Gumby is worth more than White.

They jumped five picks ahead and got there forward, great, everything works out for collingwood again. Gumby for our 3rd rounder or GTFO!

GWS will win four straight premierships between 2017-2021. Under no circumstances will they win less than three flags with this group. GWS received far too much from the AFL that is all.
