Surely Kangas take Thredgold - too good to still be here and they are crying out for good tall defender.

Hopefully them or bullies bid on Ison which slops up blues pick in front of us.

Hopefully leave Greeves or Hibbins-hargreaves to us. Both could easily have gone in the mid to late teens.

Even if they are gone then there are still some good kids or here but wouldn't suprise me if we go completely left field with some kid who even the experts have to scramble find something on.

A part of me wants us to take kickett too. Just for the commentators trying to not bite of their tongue when Pickett kicks it to Pickett who kicks it Pickett!

This is now pick 30, and with just four clubs ahead of us, the following players, which have all featured in Cal Twomey's top 30, are still on the board.

  • Jevan Phillipou 183cm Mid/Fwd
  • Noah Hibbins-Hargreave 186cm Fwd/Mid
  • Archie Ludowkye 197cm Fwd
  • Blake Thredgood 194cm Def
  • Ollie Greeves 191cm Mid
  • Liam Heatherton 198cm Fwd

Hibbins-Hargreave missed a lot of games, firstly with injections into his calf muscles and then an AC joint injury to his shoulder, which is probably why he has slipped this far in the draft. But he is an elite user with great hands, who has played on the wing and on-ball this year, and is a dead-eye in front of the sticks, converting at 82% for Dandenong last year.

He is also good mates with Harvey Langford and did a preseason stint with us this year.

Speed was something Taylor talked about a fair bit in his interview last night, so I wouldn't be surprised if we went with another pacy type tonight.

Greeves I'm not sure on. With defensive running being one of his main downfalls, I don't know that he would fit what we're looking for.

Is defensive running that big of an issue. Surely this is a easy enough fix over time. His ability to be a midfielder that can hit the score board far outweighs his lack of defensive run.

We'll be in the market for Dougie Cochrane next year, who is a talented 196 utility, and probably the number 1 pick contender at this early stage. So, we may be looking for something different this year.

Have added a quick poll. Wouldn't be surprised if JT goes for somebody from left-field though, has done it before in this range.

Yeah sort of thing that would be sorted in a couple of pre-seasons.

Hibbons-Heargraves looks a similar sort to Pickett and a bit injury prone. i'd pass.

not sure we need another developing tall with White coming in either.

i'd take Greeves if he was still on the board. i don't care what his athletic profile is, the kid can seriously play footy and could turn out to be a steal at this range.

i don't mind that little nugget Talor Byrne that someone on here said we were interested in either. he goes hard.

Greeves is my favourite but Thredgold or Double H would be good too. North would be crazy not to take Thredgold though.

It appears its a big enough issue for him not to be a first round pick in what is considered a weak draft. I do like him as a player, I'm just not sure he's what we will be looking for. More than happy to be wrong.

Might be the case, but at pick 30 I would imagine it's less of a problem. IMO a goal kicking midfield is exactly what we need, and his kicking looks elite. Also having so called hard working two way runners hasn't exactly been great for us in recent times. For example Sparrow works hard both ways but barely impacts the game. As I said get Greeves and make him work on it.

We've been linked to Talor Byrne. Nuggety, no nonsense small. I'd take him. Rodriguez is probably the safest beat to become a good afl player given his workrate.

Thredgold would be ridiculous as probably the 2nd best key defender in the draft but surely he goes to North now.

Otherwise, i'd love a Blake Oudshoorn-bennier who has the best footskills in the draft imo and/or Riley Onley as a point of difference (195cm mid) might be nice.

Call me crazy but I would take another small forward. Kozzie is primarily a mid now and all we have is Chandler (average), Mentha (young and jurys out) and Latrelle (unknown).

Anyone know much about Kickett?

I like the sound of Louis Emmett. We need to start planning for a life after Max. Listed as strong hands and athletic endurence, yet appears to have a good frame to build some size on. Same height as dogga, so whilst not huge he's big enough to be at least the 2nd ruck.
