He's not a first ruck but has done some relief rucking and like you said is probably still growing

Call me crazy but I would take another small forward. Kozzie is primarily a mid now and all we have is Chandler (average), Mentha (young and jurys out) and Latrelle (unknown).

Don't think this is an unreasonable opinion, Chandler is average at best and no guarantee on any of the other guys to come good.

I'm definitely keen on another small forward, but I would think we'd now possibly lean more towards a mid, mostly because that new young core we've got doesn't have many 'pure' midfielders. When you look at our 22 and unders; only Langford really stands out as an 'actual mid'. If you extend it to 25 you get Kozzy, Rivers, Sparrow and Laurie as midfield possibles, so there's not much in the cupboard for players taken as primary mids. (I don't mean slow inside mids, just actual midfielders).

Plus Rucks take forever to develop. Max Gawn didn't come good til he was in his mid 20s.

Which is exactly why we need another young horse in the race.

Campbell is a year by year proposition. This likely being his last. Max has 3-4 year at most left, off what will be a declining level of performece (i feel dirty even saying it). That leaves Heath, who whilst a good pick up, was a broadly an off cast from the Saints, so he's hardly a surething to be anything other than average.

I would see Louise playing as a KPF come 2nd ruck over the next few years before taking over from Max in time. We can't continue to play JVR as a 2nd ruck. We are destroying him.

After this year, i see Heath as our VFL ruckman and if Max gets injured, he plays first ruck.

Kalarni isn't a ruckmen. He has Jack Fitzpatrick vibes.

He's got a few years to improve, he's still pretty raw IMO. Has the best ruck of all-time to learn from. Plus, even then he doesn't have to be great, just has to do a job.

Both seem like bloody good value mid 2nd round when this draft is going 3 rounds max.

I don’t mind the look of this Brodie Atkins kid from Gippsland.

Medium sized 182cm midfielder who won the Morrish medal this year.

Is a stoppage and clearance type (good tackler) with not big upside but not big downside either.

Sounds a bit boring but he could be the best available, and I think we need another young mid or 2 before we’re finished with our next generation midfield.

Based on what I have seen Greeves would be good. Potential to be very good if he can work on his weaknesses but could easily be gone in 2 years. Happy with that kind of risk at pick 30.

Can someone please explain to me how a 17 year old beanpole who was doing this in his first ever VFL game (against full grown men and AFL listed players) is not rated in the top 50 of this draft?

He had some incredible hitouts, kicked 2 goals and took a couple of impressive contested marks. He looked like a top 5 pick if I am being honest. Maybe I am taking crazy pills.
