Greetings to MFC supporters,

Having Pick 1, 2 and 18 very much likely untouchable, what do you all think of Pick 34 (3rd rounder) and Pick 50 (4th rounder)?

What do you prefer?

a) Do you prefer upgrade using these picks?

b) Do you prefer trade off for a young quality? If so, who would that player be?

c) Do you prefer to keep it and draft youngesters?

Please comment as much as possible.

Thank you for your comments :)

I wouldn't mind packaging our 3rd rounder + a player (someone like Miller or Bell) in order to get a high-middle second rounder, as the talent pool starts to drop off a little after this point.

In saying that, there are still some impressive prospects who will be floating around in the 3rd round and beyond, but the quality does drop off quite a bit.

Do you think Scott Grumbleton worth Pick 34?

Injury prone, a young KPP. Do you think Essendon is running out of patience?

It's an interesting one, because I think Essendon are yet to really see what he's capable of, so they probably wouldn't deem a 3rd rounder to be enough compensation given the fact that Gumbleton was a top 5 pick.

Personally, I think it would be great if we could add another KPF to our list, but we don't need another injury prone individual such as Scott, as we have plenty of them already.

We would be better to pick Panos if he slips through to our pick, or perhaps even Butcher if that is the way the club chooses to go.

Thanks for your comments Cannon,

I brought this idea up because of the hot debate at Pick 2 between Butcher and Trengrove. If MFC goes for Trengrove, I was wondering if Grumbleton can be a good option. Maybe good for MFC, Essendon footy club (if they are out of patience) and to Grumbleton for a new change :)

I would love to get Gumbleton at pick 34 but I think he would still be worth a lot more than that. If Essendon were willing to give him up (which I very much doubt) I think they would be looking for a late 1st rounder.

You could MAYBE get Gumbleton for pick 18 if Essendon didn't rate him much and really loved Neagle. I doubt it though since Lucas and possibly Lloyd are on the way out.

I'd quite likely take Gumbleton at 18.

I agree.

Essendon would still be holding out for a first round pick if they were to trade him, which i doubt they will because they need him with no Lucas now and Lloydy getting on

I can not see the bombers trading of Gumbleton. With no Lucas and Lloydy winding up they will keep him.

Give it a few years and we could have a Fev/Buddy style shootout between Watts/Gumbleton to see how can get to the 100 goal mark first.

I find funny how people think the bombers would have run out of patience with him. Imgaine if the Dees had run out of patience with Sylvia?

Are these the picks that we used on Bennell and Jetta last year? If so I am pretty happy to keep them again if the recruiters think they can come up with players of this sort of potential again. Not too sure what we need, but the way football is heading you can't go too far wrong with quicker, lighter players who can use the ball.

Bombers wont trade gumbleton. They still think he's the best player on there list even though he can't get on the park!
