Pick two

I'm not sure on Martin to be honest, he just doesn't impress me as much as the other two.

His 20m sprint is somewhat surprising, but then again, when I've watched him he didn't really seem to use his pace, so I guess that's understandable.

Someone on another forum said that Bailey stated in an interview that he wanted a KPP type with pick #2. Looks like it will be 1. Scully, 2. Butcher if he sticks to that word.

Welcome to Tigerland, J.Trengove? Will be interesting to see who you pick anyways. There should be some real quality left at pick #3.

I'm not being a smartarse just stating that 2.89 for a 20m sprint is not elite for a midfielder. I really dont care who we take with 1 & 2, I've seen about 1-2 games from each of these players which is not enough to make the decision, I'm sure our recruiters have seen just about every game all these guys have played for the last year or 2 and would be much better off to make a decision.

I'm not trying to put Martin down or anything, all I hope is that whoever we take with 1 & 2 end up being superstars don't care whether its Scully, Butcher, Martin, Trengove, Morabito, Rohan as long as they become superstars playing for the Dees

A 2.89 is pretty damn close to elite for a mf though, considering the record at draft camp is 2.79 sec's or something. Only a small % get under 2.90 secs at draft camp. 3.00 sec's is considered a par score I think for a mid.

I thought it was pretty impressive because it's rare for a player of such skill to have that kind of pace/acceleration. I still can't tell whether Martin's left or right footed he kicks that well on either side. With Scully you can tell he's left footed, and with Trengove you can tell he's right footed.

I think it's highly unlikely we'll pass on Trengove at #2 though, because he's such an outstanding 'all-round' footballer, but geez, this Dustin Martin kid is something special as far as i'm concerned (and not just because of the 20 metre sprint result...)

I highly doubt we will go for Butcher, especially now that we've got pick #11 in which we can use for needs as well as Trengove's blistering form this season.

Hmmm...I don't know how reliable that is tbh.

I do know that Bailey really wants a KPF at this draft, but the mids are simply too good to overlook at pick #2. I reckon there will be some good KPF prospects still on offer at pick #11. Perhaps even Butcher...:p

There's almost no chance we'll pick John Butcher at #2 believe me. We'll pick Dustin Martin or Morabito before Butcher at #2.

Keep dreaming RE: Trengove....:D

For what its worth I have heard that he is rated as highly as Joel Selwood was by many of the Bendigo Pioneers staff, I agree with everything your saying and his 20m sprint result only strengthens my view that I would take him at number 1 let alone 2..
