Yeah, I reckon the Sack missing hurts us more than Billy. Think we can manufacture goals through alternate players, stopping them not so much.
Appreciate the acknowledgment of Goldy's solid year, but Billy is a big out.

I think smith has a little tarkyn Lockyer about him. He doesn't have to be pendles he just has to play his role and I think he plays it well. Every team needs a link man and that is smith

They're both male humans living on Earth. That's where the similarities stop.

Not saying he's not a big out, just that we have better coverage. Fasolo (it appears), Kirby, Aish, Brown could all play HF. We're a bit lighter on for 193cm really quick give a 110% defenders and play on talls or smalls. None of Schade, Keeffe or Langdon bring those traits.

Just watched the last qtr again.
So many desperate acts. Smith saves a goal, Maynard chase down, Howe and Dunn winning one on one's, WHE taking marks and Goaling, Sack and Greenwood all heart, Sidey putting himself on the line, but there's 1 bloke who's manic efforts just keep standing out, ADAM F*&^ing TRELOAR.
Wind him up and watch him go, some of it isn't pretty but he just keeps on driving the team time and time again.

Yeah Crisp was brilliant. It wasn't just his line-breaking, but also some of his body work. He is a beast at 190cm with such a strong build. Let's hope he carries that form into the 2nd half of the season.

I'm also more impressed by Josh Smith after watching the replay. The criticism in this thread is amazing. There were one or two errors, but overall he worked his guts out, and his disposal was very good. That spoil on the line with Kersten (I think it was) running into the open goal was incredible, as were some of his marking and defensive efforts. His chasing is also really good. He is clearly super fit.

He is actually becoming our go to person in defence. The early criticism has been how he handles himself under pressure, and that will remain a question mark until he stands up in a really big game. But we've had a few really close ones in recent weeks and in general he has held his own. I'm becoming a fan.

How far away is Varcoe? Need him back in for Ramsey.

If Langdon is fit, he'd be a good replacement for Goldsack.

Kirby and Fas back in for Elliott and Wells.
Close enough.

If I had to pick someone other than Kirby, it would've been Rowdy jr.

Playing within his limits and instructions. Too many turnovers in the back half so he is playing safe behind centre and attacking forward of centre.

It's good that he's playing within his limits but the problem is he still has those limitations.

Guess beating Freo was nothing Special
I'd put money on the result being reversed if Brisbane had been playing in WA. Don't underestimate the advantage of playing at home vs the western state teams Dave, the travel alone is a disadvantage, let alone playing on an unfamiliar ground.

I think last week was special.

Playing a team on the road and facing adversity with injuries throughout the game. We showed great character to win that match.

It could have been easy to roll over and give up, but that was a special victory regardless of the opponent.
