The Port heritige jumpers from the 1800s are a bit different from dumping the good old collingwood home and away jumper that you wore5 or 6 years ago, or whenever. (and won a premiership) Did a sense of failure drive the spin department to dump the good old collingwood jumper like a bag of s***. "Inverted our colours" is spin like tripe, to try to get away with pinching another Aussie rules clubs jumper. Why always the spin ?

ps.. pavlich won you the game

Yeh, I'm sure the AFL wants to relocate the biggest Melbourne drawcard it has. At the same time it's going to reduce the MCG capacity to 25,000 and play all games on Wednesdays at 7am.
Nice :thumbsu:

Trolls should stick to "Buckley's going to retire in seventeen seconds!" because at least there is a very, very slim possibility it could occur.

I have just a slight amendment to the plan. Rather than relocate, we should set up a rep office in each state and run a team in the local comps wearing black and white stripes. We should start by entering the Collingwood Magpies in the SANFL.

I say we put it to the vote. Ask all Collingwood members and all Hawthorn members which team should relocate, Pies or Hawks. Ha Ha.

Meh, it was written by a Dorks supporter. The poor fella is going to have to travel to Tassie every second weekend soon to watch his team play in a 'home' game.

Haha, that's a shocker.

So, when young Jack came to play at Telstra Dome last weekend, all eyes were on this young kid plucked off the rookies list by a coach who should know.

He didn't let the chance pass him by, either. Jack played a blinder.

Yeah right. He had 12 disposals. That might be a 'blinder' in rugby, but it's nothing more than a solid AFL game.

In AFL football, you aren't allowed to be too good, too soon. The rules state that you must stay on the rookies list until there is a spot in the seniors.

A prescribed number of players are put on the seniors list at the beginning of each season. This cannot change according to the discovery of a prodigious talent, no matter who he is.

Crap. The rookie list is a brilliant AFL initiative. It allows players who young players who weren't picked up in the draft to have a second chance. It also allows players that mature later to have another go. You only have to look at Harry, Tarkyn, Mal Michael, Maxwell and Betheras for us to see the benefits. There have been so many good players (Dean Cox, Woewodin etc) that have come off the rookie list half way through a season, played well and then picked up the next year. It is not as though Sydney will lose Jack if he plays well.

Well, it's time the stupid rule was changed. Not a single other sport places restrictions on athletes that prevents them from over- achieving.

You can be any age and come from anywhere to win an Olympic gold medal in swimming, rowing or athletics.

Imagine telling Ian Thorpe he had to swim at age level and serve his time before he could compete against the big boys

As far as I'm aware, no other sport has this system. Swimming and Rowing are poor examples because they are typically individual sports.

Rebecca Wilson = no idea.

"ONE of the most momentous events in Sydney's AFL history took place during the Swans' match against the Kangaroos last week."
Maybe Sydney rugby's AFL history... nobody who follows AFL cares much. Jack is famous for one thing only, being the small fish in the betting scandal.

"If the Swans had won the game, Jack would be entitled to think he would have been best on ground."
The AFL summary has him fourth best, for the losing team, behind Fosdike, Barry, and Kirk. Reach?

If we define success in premierships, the fact that Collingwood has won one flag since 1960 puts the Pies under pressure. The Kangaroos have won four in that time and Carlton eight.
While the proposal to relocate Collingwood would surprise many, and upset its fans, it has benefits.
One

Oh dear, this must be one of the most stupid statements of all time. Collingwood relocate - for some reason I don't think that will happen.
