Collingwood and Carlton will once again open the season at IKON Park, with a clash under lights this Thursday night.
Will be televised on Ch7, Kayo and Foxtel

Despite finishing 18th in 2024, the Pies will be looking for a fresh start this year after welcoming six new players to the list in the off-season, headlined by prized number one draft pick Ash Centra.

Changes from last year:

Ins: Ash Centra, Georgia Knight, Violet Patterson, Airlie Runnalls, Kellyann Hogan, Lily-Rose Williamson.
Outs: Stacey Livingstone (retirement), Aishling Sheridan (personal), Charlotte Blair, Lauren Brazzale, Erica Fowler, Sarah Sansonetti, Eleri Morris, Imogen Evans (delisted).

Announced earlier this month, inaugural Magpie Ruby Schleicher has taken the helm as Collingwood AFLW captain, the third in the Club’s history. The 27-year-old, who debuted in the infamous inaugural AFLW game at IKON Park in 2017, will lead alongside vice-captain Jordyn Allen.

I'd play Centra as a high half-forward and get her the ball at all costs. Honestly Georgia Clark would become a 15-goal forward if they gave her a shot because she has elite hands and is a great set shot. All she needs is a player to put it to her and she'll finish off. Centra's that player. The forwards will lick their lips if Ash has the ball going forward.

Violet will bring the defensive pressure and run on the outside we've lacked at times. We've always been strong on the inside, these inclusions add that footy IQ and ability on the outside.

Centra said thats exactly what she'll be doing. High half forward with stints on ball.
Looks like they have moved Clark into defence, there has been a couple positional switches this pre-season.
Looking forward to seeing Violet run down the wing and bring her stengths to the game.

Fantastic to see that Centra and Patterson will play. Just heading down to watch those two run around is exciting. I still believe Ash will be recognised as one of the best players in the competition after this season.
Will also be good to see Howarth, Runnalls, Lee and Hyde start the season off from round 1 injury free, and hopefully it stays that way.....

I would seriously love to know what our women's team work on during the off season. It's definitely not their skill level...

Even the game plan seems poor still

We’re just allowing Carlton to camp 2-3 defenders back on their own and we just dump the ball in there

Like, come on man this is Season 10. School level tactics shouldn’t be working anymore
