He's definitely gone or exploring what's out there?

Surely he'd be in the round 1 side? I think JoeD isn't quite ready to step up and we shouldn't expect him to in 2014, with Crammers gone Gumby could be quite valuable to us in the next year or so?

I've a always been a big believer in having two power/key forwards - when JoeD is ready Hurley moves down back...from memory Bomber is a big fan of Hurley the backman, could see it happen in 2014?

He's exploring with a preference to leave. It'd take Freo, Port and Adelaide saying no (along with Bulldogs, Carlton etc.) for him to stay.

I would have thought Bomber and the coaching panel would be in his ear telling him the opportunity is there to grab with both hands if he wants it.

My preference is to play Daniher and Gumbleton together, Hurley back with Carlisle and Pears out of the side.

Gumby is still the best natural forward on our list. Madness to let him go IMO.

wow do you watch football at all , like seriously

Hmmmm...... relative newbie asking if I watch football.

Interesting.

me being a newbie on here seriously has nothing to do with how i see the game , i think you know sweet f/a if you think gumby is an important piece of this team anymore

I agree with Jade to an extent. Hurley-Carlisle-Hooker is a stuff of dreams in defence, but we also want the flexibility of a KPF who can go into defence if we need a game winner (one of Hurley/Carlisle). Also someone a bit more mobile than Gumby when it hits the deck. Brent Staker is the one that springs to mind, or wait a year and move heaven and earth to get Ben Reid next season

I don't think it makes sense to play both Hurley and Carlisle at the same end of the ground because Hooker is an excellent CHB and we have quality third tall defenders in Fletcher and Pears. So I suggest we either play Hurley at FB and Carlisle at CHF or vice versa.

So the question here is WHY THE **** ARE WE LOSING BOTH?!?!?

Gumbleton would stay if told he would be starting round 1 barring injury.
Personally I don't want to lose both or any for that matter, especially a player that you get at pick 2, has an injury plagued start to his career then once he "apparently" gets over the whole back & hammy issue then we just offload him? I don't see the sense in that but also I'm not on the recruitment/coaching panel & aren't privy to there ideas in offloading both?

IMO with these draft sanctions this year I would just keep our 1st 2 live picks in the draft (42ish & 60ish?) & hope to pick up a bargain but other than that I would just use this off season to see if we can slightly upgrade our list with current players in the system AKA Chappy, Shaw, Vince, White etc, but unfortunately if that means we make deals for Crammers & Gumby who are looking elsewhere then so be it but I wouldn't be trading them in hope to keep the picks, I'd only be doing it if we can get a required player in return!

I just don't see much benefit for us losing quality players to try & get lower picks in this draft which has been ear marked as not much depth!

Andrew Walker? He'd be in my top 2 FA targets for next year.

Fletcher should have been offered a contract conditional on his understanding that the three KPDs for 2014 would be Hurley, Carlisle and Hooker. Gumby should be playing forward but it just wont happen.

it'll be interesting to see how we structure up next season, without crameri we have the opportunity to play 3 legitimate Key posts up forward, when we were sort of stuck between playing 2 and 1/2 and 3 and 1/2 with crameri in the side.

If we go TBC-Daniher-Hurley forward, then Hurley becomes the more mobile guy who can basically roam around and do his own thing, and he is a bloody good mover for his size, so i don't see it as that much of a pressing need.

Not sure that this is walking out. I'm pretty sure it'd only take some of the money freed up by Crameri and discussion with Bomber that ended in "Gumby, our preference is to have three talls in the forward line and for you to be one of those talls".

Why thank you, question though - how much do you think I care about what your opinion of me is?

Gumbleton has one of the highest goal/game ratio's on our list, this despite being played in the wet far too often.

He's one of the best contested marks we have and he has an exceptional endurance base for a key forward.

Couldn't care less if you disagree, Ben the Gooner does and we get along just fine.

Word of advice though, if you intend to hang around these parts I'd strongly suggest you refrain from telling people they know 'sweet f/a' - makes you look like a whiny child and honestly you won't last very long here.

i'd prefer White to McKernan. Although drafting someone from a state league such as @Yoda_s man Ben Brown would possibly be just as good

I can't believe it. White just played a finals campaign and looked like he belonged and you think we're just as likely to find someone of that quality in the state leagues. White was initially hopeless but as is the case for most players, especially the biggers guys, he has improved dramatically with time.

He's not KPP

You missed the Hurley: back part :paa

Reported on SEN that Myers and Crameri to Melbourne for pick 2.

Hogan, Clark, Dawes, Howe...

The last thing that the dees need is another key forward
