Two Part Question Here!

How many players were on the Freo senior list in 2005? What is the maximum number of players allowed to be on an AFL list?

and Therefore, How many players will need to be delisted before the draft? and Who do other Freo supporters think they will be?

I guess there is a little more that two parts to this question, but anyway, I think they all link together. :D

Okay, it looks I will have to keep this thread running if none else wants to. :) This is a list of our current players from the Dockers Official Website. I count 41 players on the senior list and 3 on this rookie list, so how many does the list need to be trimmed to before the draft?

Who can provide the current contract status of each of the players here? I actually have no idea and don't know where to find the information.
Once we find that out we will be able to talk about who we should be delisting and trading.

Thanks Rgauci, Here is the list of signed players from that Dilemma thread. I am guessing that all the players that are left blank are now uncontracted, IMO that is an awful lot of uncontracted players. If Parker and McManus go onto the veterans list that cuts the list to 39. To cut it back to 35 players we will need to cut 4 players, I think they should be Haines, Woods, Seiget, and one of either Smith or Webster, seems like a tough decision.
The ideal situation for Freo would be to package several players for one good player, or high draft pick.

Bell -
Black - signed
Browne -
Campbell - signed till ? (but definately signed)
Josh Carr - signed
Matt Carr -
Cook -
Copping - signed until end of 2006
Crowley - 1st year as a rookie player. Can return to rookie list or be elevated.
Dodd - Contracted until end of 2006??
Dunn - contract ending still hasn't signed
Farmer -
Gilmore -
Grover -
Haddrill -
Haines - signed until end of 2006
Hasleby -
Hayden -
Headland -
Johnson - signed
Longmuir - signed until end of 2009
McManus - signed until end of 2006 (veteran listed)
McPharlin - signed until end of 2007
Medhurst - contract ending, still hasn't signed

Murphy - signed until end of 2008
Parker - veteran listed (doesn't count towards the 35 players)
Pavlich - signed until end of 2007
Peake - contract ending, still hasn't signed
Polak - signed until end of 2006
Sandilands - signed until end of 2007
Schammer - signed until end of 2007/6
Schofield - signed until end of 2006
Siegert -
Smith - signed until of 2006??
Stribling - signed until end of 2006
Thornton -
Walker -
Warren - In his second year as rookie. Must be elevated or delisted.
Webster -
Woods -

Can anyone enlighten me of the contract status of those guys left blank, are they all actually uncontracted?

Haines, Woods, Siegert, Smith, Webster and Gilmore are all out of contract and probably won't be at the club next year. Gilmore may have some trade value but the rest will be de-listed.

Browne and Medhurst are uncontracted and are currently in negotiations with the club. Both have been told that they are required players but if Medders hasn't signed within the next week then it's 50/50 whether or not he will be at the club next year.

Bell, Hasleby, Hadrill and Farmer are all contracted until the end of 2007.

M Carr, Grover, Hayden, Thornton and Walker are all contracted but I'm not sure how long for. Possibly all until 2006.

Cook and Headland I think are both out of contract but will be at the club next year.

Crowley and Warren will be elevated to the senior list, Duffield probably will be too.

Thanks dominguez, I have just updated that list, by the way I think they should keep Gilmore.

Warren - In his second year as rookie. Must be elevated or delisted.
Webster - uncontracted (delist?/trade?)
Woods - uncontracted (delist?/trade?)

I think it is a worry that two of our most exciting young players in Brett Peake and Steven Dodd are still uncontracted, as they will be guns! Hopefully they do promote Duffield I really like what I have seen from him.

I'm not sure of the status of Peaker and Dodd but rest assured they will be at the club next year.

The problem with Gilmore is that he isn't very accountable. Better to have someone who can perform a role like Dodd or Crowley in the side, or someone with flair like Peake over Happy Gilmore. If he isn't going to get a game a trade might be in his best interest and the clubs, but if there is no interest from rival clubs keeping him as a backup player might be a good idea.
