Well, here goes another crack at people reporting on their players.

Brent Stanton: Had an under par game. His usually silky smooth disposals let him down today. Worst game for the year so far. 18 of his 20 possies were uncontested. That's not good enough for a midfielder. Need to really get going in the centre bounces.

Jason Winderlich: Opposite to Stanton, had a great game, probably his best for the club. 24 touches, 18 effective kicks. 6 inside 50's, 5 rebound 50's. The only thing he really has to improve on is his finishing. Had 2 running shots on goal and missed them both. If he improves this area of his game, he can be potentially our best midfielder for atleast the next 5 years.

Agree with your assesment of Stanton. I suppose the only up side to this is he still found some of the footy despite not having a great game.

Not my job, but i thought Mcveigh was fantastic today and i have a feeling not to many will disagree with me. Has really stepped up in the past year or 2 and i would now consider him to be our best midfielder. Can tag, can play defensive and can go forward and kick goals.

Rumor is Stanton is battling a case of OP..and is being nursed through..if this is the case id rather he was rested but that wont happen when Sheeds is coaching for is career..Love Winders..

Well i can tell you that your rumour is way off. He did have a slight groin strain in febuary but thats all it was. Being a regualr at training and seeing his training program there is no way he is being nursed because of OP. I can tell you came out of last weeks game with a bit of knee soreness and had a lighter week on the track this week.
Stop posting rubbish you know nothing about.!

Lucas

Was on fire early, absolutely dominant, but although he kicked 3 he probably should have had 5 or even more. Uncharacteristically inaccurate. Got a couple of assists again too which was good. Was unsighted in the 2nd half.

mcphee
another solid game in defence. 20 possessions with a couple of nice marks
provided a bit of drive although his opponent fisher hurt us a bit.

Am happy with the improvement from Winders this season, just needs to work on finishing.

Stanton appears to be playing more in the defensive 50 and not on the wing as we have seen over the past seasons. Hope this is for balance and rotation and not to do with op as been commented on here. Could explain why he hasn't had big penetrating kicks so far this season. Hope you are right Ant.

stants has had plenty of inside 50's this year and he has been our most consistent midfielder besides winders
