Best PS4 PS+ game by an absolute mile with its fun and rewarding game mechanics, the "just 1 more game" factor is one of the strongest I've experienced in a long time. Character progression is done really well and involves putting in an effort, not just getting lucky with a random drop.

Is it normal for me to have died in the first room and I'm on my 4th character, on Rogue Legacy?

Yep. You get a trophy for dying 30 times I think. I must've died over 300 easily in my 30+ hours. Just keep getting gold and raise your stats, you'll get further every time.

Some bloke in a purple cloak with red (or white) eyes keeps charging me all my money for a toll fee, before I go into the castle every time I restart.

Is this normal...?

Yep so you gotta spend all you can before you start again. When you get further in the game you can buy skills that reduce what you give him. I've maxed that out and only give him 50% every time now.

How does it work with using the guy that can lock the castle layout for you? If you give him a share of your money does he lock the layout for the castle you just died in or for the castle you are about to enter?

The castle layout for the one you died in. So for example I just cleared three different layouts of the castle and got to the fourth boss but I didn't have much health left and died. I then locked the castle (giving the due 60% of my gold that I would receive in this level) and used the teleporter at the start of the castle to teleport infront of the fourth boss's entrance.

By the way I ****ing died when the fourth boss had 1 hit left, I fell on a spike of all things and died. Still can't get over it.
