• BRENT Wallace grew up with the Bulldogs, barracks for Richmond and is eligible under the father-son rule to be drafted by Hawthorn.

The son of Tigers coach Terry has already had a strong football education.
Brent plays with the Northern Knights under former Carlton and North Melbourne coach Denis Pagan and hopes his inside knowledge and long-brewing passion for the game will help him stand out.
"I've always been around at the clubs watching everything - the players and coaches," he said.
"It's been non-stop since I can remember. I've always been around it and have always loved it.
"I barrack for Richmond, but I've got a soft spot for the Doggies. And if I went to Hawthorn it would be a dream come true, but I just want to play anywhere."

actually i dont know why i was under the impression that clubs could pick up the sons of coaches - cant find any info on it so he is most likley only able to be picked up by the hawks, unless he refuses - which i doubt.

If Terry is coaching us, I would think his son would refuse to come to us if he wanted to make it in the AFL, given he would have a very good knowledge of Terrys lack of ability to develop players.

i would think the amount of scrutiny he would be under would make sure that never happened. i would think if anything it would be harder for him to get a gig. just ask Ryan Pagan if his father Denis gifted him any games. Plough would have to be insane to give him a game if he didn't deserve it.
