I've been looking all over the various sites just now, and I can't find anything...

If it's true, can't say that it's a great shock. He just didn't have it. The game passed him by this time around.

Cheers,
William

Good and shame to Colonial for naming an end after him!

well said rick chick lost all respect for him upon his comeback and the afl has that blemish at colonial to remind them for ever,

I couldn't think of a more sensible name for an end at Colonial than Lockett. Greatest goalkicker in the game's history, and shouldn't be remembered for 2-3 games of a failed comeback bid, rather for 260-270 games of being an almost unstoppable footballer.

As much as his comeback was an abject failure, it won't detract from a sparkling career... I think he pulled the pin just in time, as it would have been tragic to see his reputation slip had he struggled on through the season.

I won't miss the big fat bastard kicking bags of goals on us, but I'll miss him doing it to other teams. :(

Was easy money that I bet with a mate he would not play 4 games. thats one bet home the other is almost home Richmond to again fail to make september action. All thats gotta happen now is them to sack frawley and ive got a nice trifecta.

Always sad to see a champion retire but in Pluggers case shouldnt have returned but in saying that i would have loved him to succeed but not to be .

He should be remembered like Wayne for how great of footballer he was and not for his efforts this year

Go swans Go ROOS

I'll never forget the innumerable arseh*le acts fat Tony was responsible for in an otherwise hugely productive career. I was always amazed at the warmth Lockett was afforded by many in the latter part of his career, while Carey, who never committed the anywhere near the same acts of volence in number or degree throughout his playing days, was largely reviled by most supporters.
Good riddance in my opinion.
