I've just started listening to podcasts, and am about to take some long flights so need some more suggestions. What are your favourites?

The Ricky Gervais Show by a mile. Absolutely obsessed. It's the musings and general hilarity of Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant (who created Extras and The Office with Gervais) and Karl Pilkington, who is the main reason for listening. He might sound like a character but he is legit and incredibly funny without attempting to be 95% of the time. If you take my advice, get their old radio recordings from London Xfm. If you listen to them before the podcasts it makes it all the better. You can get the whole package off of Pirate Bay.

I quite enjoyed Russell Brand on talksports.
Oh and Hamish & Andy > all :)

If you like movies then 'How did this get made?' and 'Yeah, Its that Bad' are both very good.

Onion Radio News
Get-it-Done Guy
The Q&A With Jeff Goldsmith
This American Life
All Songs Considered
TED
The Nerdist

Had them all in my rotation at varying times, all great. Depends what you're after.

Best Australian podcast I've come across is Big Ideas.

Old Get This's.
This.

Recently got into one on iTunes. This **** Is Not Yet Hated. Just two Aussie guys talking about films, TV shows and games. Really enjoyable.

The GAP (Gamearena Podcast) is a really good Australian view on video games. That and it's a bunch of twenty somethings talking shit to each other so it keeps my attention quite easily.

Another I've gotten into recently are Chemistry World's monthly and weekly podcasts. There's a weekly one on a different element/molecule and then a monthly one on new breakthroughs and general Chemistry news.

Anybody ever listened to Joe Rogan's podcasts? 'The Joe Rogan Experience'

Warning: they aren't for the faint hearted.
