There are a few species of Jellyfish, the main one being the Turritopsis Dorhnii that are immortal. As they mature and get old they can regenerate themselves and revert back to young immaturity. So theoretically, if no other creatures disturbed their habitat they could live for as long as time

Witches in fiction frequently have names that end in an A. In Bewitched, there's Samantha, Endora and Tabitha. Sabrina the Teenage Witch features titular character Sabrina, and her aunts Hilda and Zelda. The witches in books and films set in Oz have names of Glinda, Elphaba and Ozma. The matriarch of the Addams family is Morticia, and the Harry Potter series has quite a few witches with names ending in A.

The Charmed TV series of the late 1990s and early 2000s did not go along with this convention, but the four main witch characters all had names starting with P - Piper, Paige, Prudence and Phoebe.

And the moral of the story? Given the above, it might be best to be wary of women named Paula, Paulina, Patricia, Pamela, Priscilla, Prunella, Pippa, Philippa, Philomena and Pandora!

Despite being further from the sun, Neptune is warmer than its fellow ice giant Uranus, although with both having temperatures of less than minus 200 degrees centigrade, probably one would not notice it too much.

However the coldest place in the solar system is Neptune's largest moon Triton, even colder than the more distant Kuiper Belt dwarf planet Pluto and it's own moon Charon.

Is Triton the joint with giant lakes of frozen methane?

Man I wasted a lot of potential kids on Phoebe back in the day

That's Titan, the largest of Saturn's moons.

One Saturn moon Mimas looks a lot like the Death Star from Star Wars, but was not discovered until Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 flew by in the early 1980s, several years after A New Hope was made in 1977.

I was surprised when I learnt wombats could reach 40km/h

I just assumed that was momentarily after being hit by a car

Apparently they are like hitting a boulder

I remember driving through Mount Kosciusko at night trying to avoid them on the road
They were everywhere

I was trying to get to Melb for the GF and the road from Eden was blocked by bushfire

Kane Tanaka, a Japanese supercentenarian, has just become the 3rd verified person in history to reach 118 years old.

This also makes her the oldest verified Japanese person and indeed oldest Asian person ever.

Tanaka is also the first person to reach 118 years of age since American Sarah Knauss (1880-1999) in 1998.

She joins Knauss (USA) and Jeanne Calment (France) in the 118 years and over club.

What a life that would've been. Born in 1880 and would've seen the rapid changes in technology, medicine, transport and general lifestyle in the time she had.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the supervillain in James Bond, is named after the father of legendary cricket commentator Henry Blofeld, who apparently went to Eton with Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond.

When a powerful earthquake struck the Philippines Island of Luzon on 16 July 1990, a brave father risked his own life to rescue his 10-year-old son who was trapped in the rubble of the hotel where the family of four were staying, the father's desperate efforts to save his son paying off in the end.

So was the young boy eternally grateful to his father for saving his life? If he was, he had a very strange way of showing it. On 10 July 2001, close to 11 years to the day after the earthquake and with the family having emigrated to Sydney Australia, the boy now a 21-year-old (failing) university student brutally murdered his father, mother and sister in their North Ryde home.

The young man's name was Sef Gonzales, and the investigation, arrest and trial made headlines around Australia, the high profile case culminating in Gonzales imprisoned for life without parole. The house itself later became the center of a high profile civil case, where the realtor was ordered by the courts to reverse the sale and refund the deposit to buyers who were not informed of the property's unhappy history, with a subsequent change to NSW real estate laws requiring disclosure of significant events at properties for sale.
