Polak at the game today

Dont want to be a downer but just relaying what Ive heard. Speaking to a bloke tonight whose Girlfriend worked with Polak in hospital (was there when he was admitted), she says he was alot worse than has been said and that (geez not sure I should say this as its second hand) but they cut open his skull to force a release of blood.

Was in a very bad way. He also apparently accidently flashed this blokes girl and Polak is pretty stacked down below.

Truly ****in sad day for Tiger fans. Just imagine one day you're fine playing in the countrey's elite football comp, and later that night you're in a coma where noone is sure just how you will recover.

I dont feel sorry for him, pity is a waste. But I do wish him the absolute best recovery and hope he yet again kicks goals for the Tigers, and himself... watever they may be.

.

That happens with most cases like Polaks, they have too much swelling on the brain and to much blood flowing in. It is why they put them in a medical uinduce coma to redeach brain activity and thus the blood flow to it.

As far as him playing again it comes down to how his motor skills recover and then the risk of further damage.

I don't think they put him in a coma so they could release the blood, a coma was needed more to stop a confused and injured person moving around and causing more damage. I haven't completed any uni courses yet though :p

Don't think so, when you have swelling on the brain you want to take away as much brain activity as possible. Medical induced coma's are designed for that reason. As far as the blood drain, they hospitial wolud also have leaked out all sorts of fluid around the brain to cease the extra constriction going on in that area. Common practice in this sort of accident/injury.

Wtf has that to do with his recovery? maybe some of the blood darined into there?

I thought the same when he was telling me. But he seemed to find it humorous that in his state he flashed his girl

Same dude also has a Brisbane, an Essendon, a Freo and Richmond jumper but follows the Pies. That may explain some kind of eccentricity.
