Toast Polak Retires

So sad really. I truley believe Polly. Was going to become one of our best trades ever. He was really settling in to the club . Congrats to him and his determination over the last few years, most young blokes in that situation with a bit of coin behind them would of shut up shop ages ago.

Congrats to the club on the way they have supported Polly he deserved every bit of it.

Good luck in retirement Polly, all the best.

Good point Rusty, another example how the RFC has matured as a club is the manner in which they have managed Polak and his health. They have had nothing but full support for him since his accident, and should be commended. Showing a lot of clubs up over the past twelve months in this dept, and they will reap the rewards one day.

Congratulations to Polly for being so strong and fighting back, it's just a shame that he couldn't get back to AFL fit again. Hope he can have a great life after the Richmond Football Club.:thumbsu:

Yeah I am glad he came. No loss as we got JR.

Just bad luck. I rated Pollie. Only wish him the best and his efforts have been an inspiration to all.:thumbsu:
One of the best draft deals we've done. From memory it involved Tarrant going to Freo, Medhurst to Pies, Polak to us and we downgraded our pick 8 to Pies pick 13. Pies used that pick on Ben Reid and we got JR at 13.

Best of luck to Polly, he was very brave and inspirational throughout his comeback and I'm sure those qualities will serve him well in the next phase of his life. Also :thumbsu: to RFC for giving him the support.

:thumbsd: to Caro for getting the date of his accident wrong - was 26 months ago, not 14 months

Brave to get back and play a few games. I think it is the correct call for both Polly and the club!

Well done Graham and also well done to RFC and to all of us for how his accident was handled.

sama sama
spewin Polly never really got to his potential, he would be playing his best footy next year if it wasnt for bloody public transport!

Always liked him on the field, had good safe hands, really upset he took such an injury.

Not dissapointed with the trade as it panned out except for his horrible injury. I think the club and Graeme handled it really well, sad not to see him onfield again.

Sad to see him retire but the best call really.

Like Cuz we ( the Richmond Football Club) have had a profound effect on his life and he is indebited to the help we gave him when he really needed it.

He will also remember the Richmond Big Footy board for the magificent gesture we managed to arrange and he has a continual reminder of the support this board has given him.

Well done Polly and well done Richmond Big Footy board.

Good call by him. :thumbsu: Was never the same player again after the accident, wish him all the best in the future.

Unfortunatey, also saves himself the indignity of eventually getting delisted.

Correct call Polly...

Sometimes things just dont work out as we hoped in life but c'est la vie!
Thanks & good luck Tiger. :thumbsu:

I forgot how well we did out of that trade. Absolutely brilliant :thumbsu:

Well done on your career Polly, I have loved having ya at Tigerland! :thumbsu:

Really proud of how the Tigers are taking care of their own recently. Can only be an incentive to potential recruits that we do so.

Good luck Polly, a crying shame your career was cut short by such a random accident.

So the charity case ends..

Good luck to Polak in future life but should have never been re-drafted and then upgraded in the first place. Also add Simmonds to that list too.

Let's hope we make decisions with our head rather than our heart in the future.

Disgraceful post Barnzy sometimes there is more to life than football, the club helped him get his life back on track and he repaid the faith by gettting himself fit enough to play AFL footy again.

Good luck in your future endeavours Polly :)

Smile Barnzy.
Take a deep breath and relax.
You're way too bitter.
Life is not that bad.

Good luck to Polly. He has his life to look forward to.

I bet he smells more roses than Barnzy.

The right call but a shame as we would never really know how good Polak could have been for Richmond as he was playing good consitent football up until the accident.

The fact he got back to play senior football was a tremendious feat.
