Just had a call on talk back radio over here, said that Freo fans had to have a police escort out of the ground after the game today.
Does anybody know anything about this?

For crowd control issues imo.
It wouldn't be because Freo fans were unruly or anything like that. It's a great idea as you would have less chance of trouble occuring as the police would escort the Freo fans to their bus.

The same thing happened a few years ago when Port played Collingwood with the collin'wood fans getting an escort out of the ground.

I don't know anything about that, but there was 2 blokes in Port guernseys that got thrown out of the game in the last quarter by the Police!!!

Absolutely no problems from the members area around to the eastern carpark area travelling south.

Cannot comment on what happened to the northern end but I've never seen any nastiness after Crows home games whether winners or losers

Suicide prevention? :D :p

The only idiots I saw were two Port supporters (they had Port scarfes and guernseys on) barracking for Freo and basically just heckling Adelaide and their supporters and saying chokers etc. Eventually they got thrown out.

Why on earth would people pay $35 to go and do that is beyond me.

They really can't help themselves can they. Pretty sad really.

Perhaps i should point out if the Police/security did escort the Freo supporters (that were in a whole section) out of AAMI stadium it wouldn't be because they were causing trouble. It would be for safety reasons only, as you'll always get clowns after the game that like to taunting/goading the oppostition fans into a fight. That would be the reason why such a decision was made by the police to safely escort the hundreds of Freo supporters that were sitting together out of the ground & it's an extremely wise decision if you ask me.

Yes it is a good precaution. After we lost last years prelim final at Subi we were heckled by several idiot Eagles supporters. This included being told to **** off back to South Australia.

And they won

I know there is another thread on this subject, but their 'fans' are real idiots. Having attended Freo games at Subi I can say that we have never had anything similar from their supporters.:thumbsu:

We had a few Freo fans around us and they were alot of fun, they had a ball. The only trouble was the two port people that relapse mentioned at the southern end. We also had a couple of Port supporters near us that barracked for everyone !$!$.

Always amuses me when there is talk of trouble.

AAMI is an intimidating place to come if you're an opposition club or supporter..........and that's the way we want to keep it....;)

Freo supporters who barracked hard for their team all day (often in pockets of 2 or 3 in amoungst thousands of us) were, and should be congratulated for their performance and wished well for next week.

Tools like the few behind us who made the insults all very personal while they were 4 goals up early, then became vulgar when they were 4 goals down were reminded ever so tactfully that the smart option might be to sit the **** down and shut the **** up..........a suggestion that to their credit they heeded.

Other morons who were either carried out by the cops or were engaged in some fisty-cuffs behind the northern goals are the kind of morons who invite that kind of reaction no matter where they are or what they are doing.....because they are just "that kind of people".

Whether you are walking down the street, going out on the town, or going to the footy at AAMI or Murray Bridge......you will normally get the reaction and treatment that you invite...that's just human nature.

In all walks of like there is a minority of tools.....coincidence that they are the ones that usually find trouble ?????......I think not.....

:)

I remember yers ago when we were the Brisbane bears.A few games at the old Princes Park, we had to have escorts from police. Was the merger year, and the North supporters were hostile, even having ago at our players on the way to the team bus after the match.nasty stuff. Spitting at kids, the whole works.

Sometimes people need to take a step back, and re evaluate their action. Cause 1stly we are human beings nt animals.

I'd agree with this entirely.

I can recall a swans fan complaining about harassment at Aami, etc etc. anyways, if my memory serves me, the story went on, it seemed this chap had quite a few similar situations over the years.

it struck me that he might have been the volvo driver of footy supporters. unusually seems to be in the thick of quite a few problems ;)

which is the real point, most people never, ever, have a problem.
