Dead set against it, and its not because I dont like a drink, it annoys me enough with people in and out of their seats whilst the game is going on, let alone if theyre spilling beer all over me and my family, and the seats at Footy Park are that close together it would be an impossibility not to spill a drop (and thats when your sober).

Surely people can wait for the breaks to have a beer.

I like to enjoy my beer, slowly. I dislike having to put it down quickly during the break, so I don't miss the game.

Why should there be beer available at the football anyway ?? People arent allowed to smoke inside the ground anymore so we should the SANFL condone beer except for the fact that the SANFL makes money out of it.

Surely people can go 150 mins without a drink of alcohol.

Smoking is completely different. If someone smokes next to me, I inhale the smoke. Having a beer next to someone does nothing of the sort. Surely you can see the difference.

I'm not saying I'm desperate to have a beer at the games and can't survive without one. Sometimes it's just nice to relax with a beer and enjoy the game.

As always though PAFC2004, it will be the minority that spoil it for people, those that dont drink slowly, those that have a drink with mates during the break and then take a tray full for the game for them and their mates. Soon as the first siren goes for the players to get in positions it'll be like at your local when they call last drinks.

Bit of a dig but the power games should be fine where you can sit in a row by your selves.

Yeah but if I am at the showdown and I have some drunk person next to me abusing me mainly because he is drunk and shooting his mouth off then that does effect me.

I am not saying that I am against drinking alcohol at the football, I guess I was just being the devil advocate and pointing out that with the problems selling tickets for the showdown which many are highlighting is due to the idiots at the game. I wonder how long before footy park becomes a dry zone.

Smuggle it through the gates in plastic snow top bottles like everybody else does, you lazy git. :)

Empty Pringle can with a bottle of vodka slipped inside ;)

i think it should be allowed in the outer, but only in the designated standing areas, you'd spill too much carrying it to your seats :)

Just what we need. More beer, more drunks and more fights.

Plus in the northern stand the rows are so ridiculously close together its hard to get your legs through without falling over. There'd be beer spilled everywhere.

Bullseye.

Have a bar under the scoreboard like at Adelaide Oval. Plenty of standing room in front of it. The drunken, loud-mouth, bar-fightning yobs will gravitate there. The families will gravitate to everywhere but there. And everybody's happy.

Every other stadium in the country allows people to drink at there seats and there is less problems there then there is at AAMI where you can't drink

I have to say that I rarely see incidents at other grounds that I would attribute to consumption of alcohol in seats. I would like to know the SANFL's reasoning behind not allowing drinking in the arena however.

I must admit I was surprised/shocked when I came to Subiaco and saw people with beers at their seats. Great fun, unless you have a chinese bladder

Wouldnt bother me either way, I figure I go to watch football...if the beer cant be taken to the seats I watch the footy, if it can I figure I am responsible enough to drink my 2 beers a quarter without getting into a whattya looging at u wanna go doya go on do it yeah like to see ya mate

They have beer holders at Subiaco that carry 4 beers. 2 for me 2 for you we dont have to move and if your names Fraser you dont even have to leave your seat for the toilet :thumbsu:
