A very good game today by Polo. As said he didn't get a lot of the ball but when he did he used it well. Was very good down back and beat his man almost every time. He won't be dropped

Geez Polo had a good game, he is a very composed player and uses it quite well. Doesn't get tons of possies but is very efficient. Will definitely keep his spot and Tambling didn't play because of hamstring tightness.

Was good in his attack on the ball and spoiling, but let's face it, after that shanked kick to Brown in the 1Q under no pressure and several others, does anyone seriously believe he wouldn't have turned up the ball the way King did under enormous pressure with the Cats dying to pounce?

I like Polo, but there's a reason why White, Jackson and others of comparable background are rated ahead of him by the coaching staff.

I have been a massive polo fan even since he first played for us, met him a few years ago at the richmond vs essendon dreamtime at the G match and he was a top bloke.

I still believe that his best footy will be played in the center though.

what? better footskills? :p He's not silk but he does the job and has more of a footy brain than others of a comparable background imo. More sloppy than genuinely a bad kick. agreed, needs to fix it but hes not alone nor the worst!

Really dissapointed that its gotten to the stage where this is even a debate, for mine its a no brainer, hes easily a best 22'er. All this does is highlight the 1 or 2 glaring errors he'll make each game (who doesnt?), when in essence he offers us a whole lot more.

Last season I took it on board that because of his shoulder and his style of play it was hard for him to play AFL, this season, injury aside, I expect him to play week in week out and be a valuable contributor.

Build on it Polo :thumbsu:

he is a good steady palyer, but if tambling is available he wont get a game.
Wrong again krustyman:)
Tambling will come in for King if he comes back in next week

Yep agree with Coughlan. Tambling should come in for King. Was at the game today and thought that Polo was very solid. Doesn't offer too much run out of defense and to be honest this is where we really lacked today. Too many times we got hemmed in on the defensive side of the wing or in the back pocket. We desperately need a better balance down back.

King needs to go as too often he runs into the areas that the opposition want him too. We should be looking to switch the play out of defense to find space but today we didn't have the run or the presense of mind to do so. Tambling could (and i stress could as in potentially) come in and play the Johncock role in the back line in place of king.

The cats beat us today largely due to the way they took the game on from the back line - especially in the fourth quarter.
