Koch will point to the Crows going out in straight sets as evidence of how tough it is. Nothing is surer.

Hes always comparing us to the weaklings, never the winners.
Must be a reflection of how he thinks about life in general. How he thinks that sprouting that crap would be a winner with Port supporters is beyond me. Imagine continually sending this type of messaging to your kids. They'd hate you.

They can obviously do it if they want to (not just those two, the collective team) but clearly the former coach couldn't build an environment that brought it out every week or when it really mattered. Unlike former Port coaches who I know you are as familiar with as I am.

Just heard a quote on the Sunday Footy Show from Isaac Cumming - We played not to lose.

Welcome to Adelaide, spirit of Ken.

It's like the Barmy Army. Sure they have some good songs, but half the time they're singing about themselves and after the they're fully pissed it's about all they come up with ... Barmy Army Barmy Army Barmy Army.

And don't start me on Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi

The EPL soccer crowds have some amazingly clever and funny chants.
Barmy army can be great value though depending on how pissed they are

7 double ups now with gather round. Adelaide will still got a soft draw. Not as soft, but the AFL still sees them doing ok as a good KPI hit on crowds and TV figures. After last night they won’t be considered a threat to their favoured Vic sides, so they won’t feel they need to make it overly hard for them. Finals still possible next year, but between a slightly harder draw and unlikely to be so kissed on the dick with injuries and they’ll be a 6-10 side. Nicks to see them finish in the Hinkley zone of not winning, but not really good picks either.

I forgot about gather round, that makes it 6 double ups instead of 5. Not sure where that extra one will come from but surely the minor premier is more likely to be fixed up with another top 6 team than a bottom 6 team. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.

I won a slab of coke for writing the best review of our visit in year 7
snap! Full sugar version too. Must have done a deal with the local dentists.

And to this day I have this vision of that one guy sitting on a chair at the corner of the bottle line just looking at them going around. No idea what his job was, maybe ensuring no bottles fell off or something. You could see him through the window from Port Road as the bus went past. Sent a bit of a chill through my spine just thinking about doing that every day of your working life.

Then one day he wasn't there any more. Replaced by a scanner of something I assume. Wonder where they sent him.

It actually can’t be understated how epic the Adelaide Crows bubble bursting in finals was.

In all the finals chokes that both SA teams have had since their inception in the AFL, this one takes the cake.

In 2002 when we lost to Collingwood missing Buckley a week after the epic minor premiership clash with Brisbane that was pretty big choke but at least we rallied to win the semi final, ditto 2003. The 2021 prelim and 2024 QF were embarrassing games and we’ve gone out in straight sets twice, but as the 3rd ranked team that had to travel to Brisbane twice in the QF but we’ve never lost two home finals in a row.

And I don’t think we’ve ever had anywhere near the hype and confidence the crows had about themselves heading into this finals series but they were smacked two games in a row and never looked like winning either.

It was the ultimate choke.

Say what you like about our KPDs, but when Keane starts to panic he is far and away the worst KPD in the league. Noone implodes like he does

AFL Memes on FB called him “The Caravan”, because he was trailing 5m behind Gunston all night 🤣

I believe that same old guy was there when I went in the 60’s. 😂
He most probably karked it while sitting there and they sold his remains to Gibbs Pies

I disagree.

Adelaide is actually right where their talent level is at. They were the falsest minor premier in recent memory.

We totally cooked three finals series in a row (2001-2003).

Yeah, it really goes to show how hard it is for non-Vic teams to win a flag - you could even say teams that don't play home finals at the MCG.

I don't buy that harder for interstate teams excuse. At the end of the day its a game of football which comes down to executing skills and decision making. More to do with training standards, intensity and levels than anything. Maybe the egos of footballers are bigger in towns with less football teams due to the celebrity status.

Under that loser coach the team was usually less than the sum of its parts. Quite an achievement.
