The longer it takes, the stronger our argument becomes for changes needing to wait for future years because we didn’t have enough time to acquire the required picks.

We might lucky that the AFL want to give Carlton a free hit and we get to slide in in the side car.

Tigers forward Mykelti Lefau was caught drink driving over the weekend by Victoria Police, allegedly blowing over double the legal limit.
The 27-year-old's blood alcohol reading of .108, as reported by the Herald Sun, could mean Lefau is disqualified from driving for at least 10 to 14 months.

A reminder that the Victorian Transport Accident Commission was once a long time sponsor of the Richmond FC with it's .05 drink driving limit campaig but ended it in 2005 after Jay Schulz was caught by Vic police travelling at 80km/h in a 40km/h zone, with a blood alcohol reading of .065

These sorts of things aren't just bad commercial news for the Club involved but for all clubs - especially those who aren't the rich clubs and struggle to get the big name sponsors because many of the mid tier sponsors are risk averse & get wary of the impact on their brand if a player from a club they sponsor does the wrong thing.

Clubs like West Coast, Collingwood, Richmond and the Crows have sponsors lining up to take the place of any sponsor who drops out after a scandal/incident. The same can't be said for clubs without such a high profile.

Hmm - another brilliant coaching mind would say ‘wouldn’t change a thing’ when asked if he’d approach a devastating 90pt home prelim loss differently if he had his time again.

Not sure what mind games Nicks is playing here by TRYING to feel disappointed in a finals loss??

Obviously a masochist, should seek professional help.

If anyone ever needed proof of what a mistake it was to let the former Power Coach anywhere near Alberton; there it is on page 51 of this morning's press. Our former Coach wants an NRL style transfer system in the AFL. As an NRL supporter that is not what we should want. We should want players who are committed to the Club and not wishing they were somewhere else. The AFL has it right, let players play out the season then negotiate and sign. I am not a great fan of the AFL but they have this part right. Let the players' managers explore the ground during the season but no negotiations or signings until the season has concluded.

As an example this year in the NRL Brisbane Broncos prop Payne Haas has signed a three year deal with South Sydney starting in 2027 but he will play out the balance his 2026 contract with Brisbane. Like me, many of my fellow NRL supporters wonder how this will affect Hass's performance when the Broncos come up against the Rabbithos during the current season. What if both sides make the Grand Final? Payne Haas will probably give it everything and play a blinder, but what if he doesn't? What if he has a stinker and the fans start to speculate? Not to mention the spectre of sports betting.

The AFL has it right and just as he did with the Co Captains fiasco in 2019 our former Coach has it wrong- again. As I read the former Coach's opinions I had a horrible thought. What if the Murdoch Press gave this man a syndicated column and we had to put up with him and Graham Cornes? It does nor bear thinking about.

What worries me about it is that the Broncos will over play him.

Then he's injured for his first year at Souths.

We should be absolutely using up every ounce of Butters we have this year if he is leaving in the same way. not our problem if he breaks down at the end of the season.

It's like rinsing out a rental cars engine.
