Game Day Port v Sydney Round 2, 2015

I think our midfield has been Vossed. Always taking the game on the wrong direction instead of going for the first option.
It seems everytime there are expectations placed on this team, they go back to their shells. There were 18 Port players running around like headless chooks tonight.

Serious? Hartlett was one of the better players during our bad streak last year.
He can play good but only when we are already in control. When has he changed the game for us? Replaceable I would like to see young get a game he's a better player and doesn't mind finding a hard ball get!

I'd like to see Young get a game too but not at Hartlett's expense. Just because a player doesn't win a game off their own boot doesn't mean they are a bad player, it doesn't even take away from a great player. It's a team sport. I think he's been poor and that's why I mentioned him but I think it's a case of finding his legs.

What did you think of it last year?
I lived in Melbourne last year. First trip to AO tonight. I thought it felt very fabricated and unnatural before the game.
Our supporters had nothing to cheer about all night. We were every bit as quiet as Crows fans when their team sucks.

Pretty pathetic night to have my debut at AO.

I was pretty disappointed tonight , I am everytime we lose but especialy so when we are outmuscled or the opponent plays tougher than Port.I reckon Reddon did o'k' considering his long absence , even though when he did win the tap we fumbled or couldn't pick it up and out cleanly . The onballers/mids got killed , geez how often did Sydney come out of the ball ups and packs with the ball ? , also to have 60 plus forward entries and only 14 shots on goal shows we tried to be to pretty , tying to get a shot straight in front 5 meters out and using 157 short handballs/kicks sideways to get it there. I know Jake had a few stuff ups , but he continued to run hard and tried all night , same with Alipate played a good game , also I thought Ryder at least tried to present himself , on the other hand the performances put in by Westy , Hartlet , and a few others was very poor . To sum up I know there was plenty of pressure and the umps helped the Swans no end early , but it doesn't excuse poor disposal when we were in the clear, this was our worst performance in the modern era (Post Primus ) and im sure we wont repeat this again this year, cheers.

It did feel a bit flat - but not every game can be the best event of the year. When Port ran out against Hawthorn last year - that was spine tingling. Swans are very good, we weren't quite there tonight.

Pittard shouldn't be our best on ground. There's more than likely something wrong when he is. It is good to know that when he has to be he is though.

Error ridden disposal with kicks into the forward line continually dropping short.
This has been the keynote of our 2 failures to date this season (ie kicking skill errors).
Kicking too deep into the pockets destroys our capability when you are playing a skilled defensive side like Sydney.
Good news: We have some big men, especially when Lobbe returns
Bad news: These big men mean we need to devise an effective game plan around them It will be game plan C, as we cooked up game plan B last week against Freo. But a return to game plan A might be nice for the next 3 weeks - like what we saw last year....please.

Pittard certainly our best, but I thought Alipate battled well all night as well. Robbie Gray OK but not at his scintillating best ( I was worried that he had done his knee again at one point but he recovered).
Our captain had a poor game by his standards, but did not stop trying.

Yep, just stay on your ******* feet and play the ball.
My problem with Monfries is he gets in trouble almost immediately when he gathers the ball even when he appears to have space on his opponent... got some work to do or he'll be lining up in the SANFL

Hartlett down hill skier only plays big in games when it doesn't matter as we are already winning
Can't remember the Collingwood game last year? Or the Essendon, or second Freo game?
He was probably our most consistent in the semi final too, and would have been BOG if not for sublime second halves by Gray and Wines.

Not enough numbers at the fall of the ball. It seemed like Sydney had 3 or 4 players around it all the time, plus poor kicking into the F50 gave the forwards no chance in taking a mark.

and then having to deal with the worst umpire ever to umpire our game, yep talking about that bald headed maggot (M Nichols), once again he found a way to screw us over every chance he had.

Matt White had an impact as soon as he came on and the only player who looked genuinely dangerous.
Hombsch did a great job on Buddy I feel.
Carlile also great.
Pittard also great.

Midfielders - throw a blanket over them, they were ****ing atrocious.
Same goes for the forwards.

I actually laughed heartily at the Trengove clanger and said Pittard would be proud of that one, he is probably like Conan in the simpsons. "Sit perfectly still. Only I may clanger."
