Positives:

*Good effort for a losing side. Most had a crack and were courageous.
*Edwards - must get a rising star nomination and more importantly play every game from here on end.
*King - as above. Has a crack and has the sort of intensity that we lack.
* Foley - what a gun. Captain material on the field.
*Krakeour - Have been keen to move him on but if he can play like he did tonight I keep him on a lot less money.
* The run... a lot of attack was set up with run and carry - exciting to watch.
*Pattison - at times he looks like a drunk Gorilla but he has a decent motor. great last quarter. Looks a bit clumsy but has great hands.
* Thursfield - make a few errors (less than Gasper would) but did ok. Just needs to go hard at every contest and not pull out because a teamate is coming across in cover.

Negatives:

*Was Schultz playing tonight? What a disgrace. Wish the coaching staff would put him in cotton balls until years end - they're lowering his trade value.
* Captain Clanger - continues to turn it over when it counts. Can't question his endevour, just too many mistakes.
* Tambling - hope he is injured because he seemed a bit uninterested at times.
* Tackling. Again they attempted many but the technique is flawed.
* Newman - seems to have lost some pace and awareness. pinged twice for holding the ball.
* Tuck - tries hard but his foot skills are terrible. Guess with the ruck stocks low he has to be in the middle.

Ive had a gutfull of jay schultz. Out schultz, in jack.

our captain is a disgrace.

Yeah you'd have to think Jay is headed to Coburg for Jack.

Is Foley vocal/confident enough to take the Captains role? I've never heard him speak or be interviewed.

I thought Jackson was pretty quiet at times (like 2 weeks ago) but he bobbed up and did a few good things. I also then realised that he was running with Mcleod and he was kept pretty quiet.
I'm far from convinced but I guess Jackson could be tried out as a Tagger on the fast rebounding Defenders - Mcleods, Wirripundas, Kennelys etc.
Jackson has decent hands (though not good enough to be a full time forward) he doesn't look suited to a defensive role but has great pace and a bit of height. Guess we'll know by years end.

Gee you can tell the difference when Richo went off... Schultz may be a better kick than Richo, but you must take the mark first before you kick...

People can bag Richo all they want, but Schultz will never be half the player he is... sorry....

I'd have to agree with you but let's not tell anyone he's useless until after we trade him.

dont worry about his errors tonight ... just needs game time .

Still has a real "Look" about him this kid .

On the whole .. Terry Wallace will be sleeping a little easier tonight .

... and people who have stuck it to Jake King , just back off a little ... we have quite simply pulled him out of our @rses ... with his background having spent so much time out of the system , his progress has been remarkable . Another year or two training and playing at the highest level and he could be a real smokey ...

Think this is a bit harsh... apart from those couple of stray kicks he didn't have too bad a game tonight. Looked like he might have at least been showing a bit more voice than usual.

I know ;)

But Schultz is the laziest fullforward i have evr seen... he hardley ever leads out and when it comes to one on one he very rarely wins.... sorry. he hasn't impressed me. :(

Positives:
Foley looks like a new version of peter bell.
Shane Edwards looks like he isn't scared of playing his own brand of football and has the skills.
King proved to me he has the necessary skills to play to go with his hardness at the contest.
Tuck put in a very good performance having to play as a ruck rover.
Pattison may make it as a ruckman judging by the fourth.

Negatives:
Daniel Jackson will never make it as a footballer, we've persisted enough time to bring up someone like Casserly who may actually have a future.
Thursfield lacks match fitness, was probably a mistake bringing him back so soon and I don't think McGuane did anything that warranted dropping
Richo getting injured (though this also could be seen as a developmental positive)
Schultz has got too comfortable in the senior team, give him an ear full about lack of work ethic then send him back to Coburg with a point to prove.
Dany Meyer looks a dud and should be dropped.
Deledio and Tambling failing once again to impose themselves enough on the game. (Neither had particularly bad games but when you consider for long periods Chris Knights was on Tambling you can't call his performance a win)
Finally conceeding three goals in the last minutes of quaters, absolutely unforgiveable if you want to be a succesful team.

Drop that imbecile captain of ours and let Foley lead from the bounce.

Fair Dinkum,i got 3 text messages during the game from mates of mine LTAO @ him.It normally wouldn't concern me but they're fu cken right.

I was at the game again.

Foley will win our B+F with ease
Joel Bowden was very good again
Raines is crap at one on one's
Howat & King have had great fortnights here in SA
Pettifer :thumbsu:
Edwards is all class, love his run
Krak has great kicking skills, we need to have him kicking to leading forwards
Schulz went missing but Adelaide have the best defenders
Thursty was okay, first game back from a knee reco and you can't expect too much
Jackson was okay but we don't need him

For the comment about Tambling on Knights, Knights gets the easiest, cheap possessions you'll ever see.

Are Richo & Polo alright?

Can't I disagree with you about anything? Thought Thursfield showed some enormous signs tonight.
Edwards?????????????? What number was he takenin the draft?
Please Terry don't coach him away from his uninhibited running game.
We will beat the Bummers next week.

Shultz was f*king deplorable tonight... there is no way anyone could possibly justify a performance like that... such an uninspiring player.

Tambling has shown glimpses here and there but tonight gave us nothing. Really needs to step up and show some consistency.

Was very disappointed in schulz.

Tambling was fine. Had a good first half, faded after half time just needs another pre season. The one thing i love about blinga is that his possies are often more valuable then anyone else in the team because he runs and breaks the lines. And he did it tonight. Also has great vision.

Shcultz is without doubt a great kick at goal... but a sh!t marking forward. Never leads or gives an option. laziest forward in the comp....

Gooooooooooooone... In comes Kingsley....

thursty did everything expected and was good in the contested ball.

Yeah, I agree.

Harsh on Newman aswell. I think hes playing well. Remember he came from a Nathan Brownesque injury. Pettifer takes way too long to make a decision to kick the ball. Wouldnt rave about him too much.

shultz was good early but the crows flood made the ball come in too slowly

Schulz started on the bench. He was useless all night.

I had some doubts about King's skills after watching him in a practice match, but he was very precise tonight. Very good game. :thumbsu:

Raines is crap at one on one's
Raines was mismatched on Welsh tonight, giving away a lot of height and weight. Not fair to judge him on that game IMO.

We will beat the Bummers next week.
:thumbsu: and I reckon we'll follow it up against the Lions (not that I'm getting ahead of myself).

I think a few are being a bit harsh on Jackson's game tonight. McLeod had a fair bit of influence on the game, but Jacko was far from disgraced. Hate to say it, but MT is right about giving him a few consecutive games. If he doesn't cut it then, then send him back but give him a go first.

Thought Krak had a fairly good game, and Foley is the one who has really really stepped up this year.

Gutsy effort from big Patto to keep on going. Another one who IMO is unfairly maligned. He is still that awkward young tall bloke that hasn't filled out his body, but he isn't too bad around the ground. Not sure that he'll become a number one ruckman but he'll become a very good number two.

Tambling and Thursfield looked like they needed nother game at Coburg to get right, though maybe it was just needing a game at that level to adjust. Thursty had a touch of the Gaspars tonight - good stopper but you didn't want him to have the ball. He has the excuse though that it was his first game back at that level for quite a while (and he has only played a handful to begin with).

Gutsy effort by Polo too, coming back on aftr popping his shoulder. The sort of inspirational courage that the team needs more of.

At the end of the day our endeavour was good against the Crows, but it was the difference in body size that influenced the end result. As one of the commentators said at one stage, it was boys against men.

Good post Crummers. :thumbsu: Thought Krak was very, very good.

Richo takes the mark and kicks the goal (or point). But he doesn't very often bring the crumbers into play. Schulz didn't take the marks or kick the goals tonight, and he much was quieter than we need him to be. But a few times he just got a fist in or split a pack to give the smaller blokes a chance.

Correctamundo :thumbsu: eeeeyyyyy !:D

Outsider looking in

Positives: Pattison - Showed his first signs of being a player tonight. They should develop him into a tall defender, ala Patty Ryder.
And Edwards. Breath of fresh air for you guys tonight.

Only negative was they got done. Were pretty good tonight.

Positives: Foley - give the kid the Jack Dyer medal now and save on costs for the B&F. Patto- showed he could be of value as a back up ruckman to Simmonds, forget bringing Knobel back in just put time into the kid. Edwards- have not watched the game yet(will after work) but the way the commentators were talking the kid up for trying to take the game on put a smile on the face. Thursfield-first game back and had G.Lyon talking him up about having some serious talent. When you make Lyon backtrack a little after his article questioning where the talented kids are you are doing something right. Negative: we lost another game.
