Top 4 was our goal at the start of the season, making it to a grandfinal for the firt time is a tick.

Considering our goal kicking and the dubious umpiring we held up well and mounted a few challenges.

Mundy was superb, If we won he would be a norm smith medallist.

Sandilands has another year in him!

Johnson brilliant.

If Fyfe kicks those shots he could have been best on ground aswell.

Ballantyne will be hungrier then anyone in the league next year.

We can see where our improvement will come from, we know we stack up. We weren't the best team this year. We will be next year.

I think the whole thing can be a massive learning experience. As Ross says: failure is feedback.

Johnson, Mundy, sandi, sun sun were great today.

I've ever do manage to make another grand final I think there are some lessons from this year that the club should take on board. I won't list them all here but one thing that struck me as odd was that Freo allowed partners, family, girlfriends, children to travel over with the boys on the charter flight. Would we do this during the. Home and away season? No. Then don't start doing it in the most important game of the season.

The grand final is about winning games. Not about helping family members and girlfriends etc with their Melbourne travel arrangements. Next time I think the players should be in more of a bubble. That's all I will say on the point for now.

Freo have had an awesome year overall. It always feels like crap when you lose a GF but Freo have a very good list, if you can get a key forward to help out I think it will make a big difference.

A number of players didn't have a great game, but it is a learning process. I feel bad for Pav, would have liked for him to get a flag.

Positives? We didn't play near to our potential yet still came close. Think we'll be much better for the experience, and I'm very happy about how we've performed this season despite the disappointing end.

I unintentionally left tendai of my list of players that can hold their head high - I have previously thought he was abit of a downhill skier like a des headland type - but not today. He was fantastic.

We will be back, and we will soak in some of the Hawks composure.

Ross will learn from the game, and we will be better prepared next time around.

Plenty of talent outside the 22. Ibbotson, Pearce, Crozier, Morabito, Griffin, Sheridan, Simpson ....the list goes on. We need another 2-3 players to take a big step ala Walters. Some clever trading and drafting and we should finish top 4 again. Then anything can happen.

Hey don't forget the Kepster ;)

The thing im mostly concerned about is the mental demons in each of the players mind.

Imagine Ballantyne next yr, the opposition can just say nice kicking at the GF. Mundy had a cracker game, he looked like a t rex running around.

I like the idea of morra playing as a forward next year - give us abit more height up forward - the guy is like 2cm shorter than pav.

Some last minute fans might get off the bandwagon

We got to experience a grand final build up

Loved the loyalty

We need far more MCG experience

Kudos on a really good (but not quite 'great') season guys.

Being at the game today, the 'FREEEOOO' chant was incredible. I think the loudest one of the day came after you went 4 goals down in the first quarter! This reflected the never say die attitude of the fans, which I think the players showed too. You guys know how to support the **** out of your team! The margin was threatening to break open throughout the last, but they didn't give up, not for a second.

Sandilands was a monster.

Pav turned it around after a quiet start.

Mundy was pivotal in bringing about the 3rd quarter surge.

Crowley claimed a massive scalp, too.

At the end of the day, poor kicking (one goal, 6 behinds, and 3 OOF's at one stage) probably cost you more than anything... but that can be quickly rectified- I think you'll be right up the pointy end again next year.

Today was a huge step forward for your club. Bitter pill to swallow, but hopefully one that will fuel the hunger for 2014!

Ohhhh and found out Hawks fans are uglier than Geelong o WCE when a Hawks fan on the tram called my son a c&$t just for being in Freo colours

We get a better draft pick guys! Important stuff as Hawks might have been after an extra kpp just for shits and giggles - to limit their greatest competitions strength.

Yeah, but you could get off the Tram.
I had the misfortune of sitting next to a drunken Neanderthal from western Australia today. Seems each fan base has their ****wits.

Well done Freo and you will be there next year.

All losing teams think , or say , "we'll be back next year." Sounds like a cliche , an empty promise , but it's happened , what , five or six times in the past ten years ?
I am not saying you will win next year , but with a good team , a settled list and today's experience , you are very well-placed for another crack next season.
