How good is Stanton?

35 possesions and he never stopped trying. There may be a bit of a query on his disposal but that has improved a heap and his ball winning ability hasnt slowed down either. Keep it up young fella :thumbsu:

Also thought Lee was good in his debut even got himself a goal which is good to see.

I heard Ayres give Lee a mention at 3/4 time as I was flicking over from Shallow Hal, but I notice Lee only had 5 possessions. Is this really a positive?

Brent Stanton will be a very good player for us for years to come.
He seems to have a massive endurance and never stops running but doesnt look like he ever puffs.

Even though he didnt do a lot i thought Lee looked OK and i would think he is a better option at CHB than Brdley

Although it is too early to write him off yet, i do have some doubts on Brdley, i hope i'm wrong.

The only positive that essendon can take out of that match is that it ended. Honestly there skills are absolotely shambolic, Fremantle of 2000 were a better team. If you honestly can take positives out of that match you need to watch more football. That was the first Essendon game i watched this season and believe me it will be the last

Watching it at home on the telly, I'm a big fan of the Johnson's, Jason is a star and it was great to see him get back into some form after he was dropped. Keep chipping away guys, you know you're better than what you are at the moment!

Plenty of positives despite the result. Stanton goes without saying...thought Lee was serviceable for his first outing...will only be better for the experience as long as he's retained for the remainder of the season.
Great to see some backline players chip in for some majors also.
Ill tear my hair out again if JJ is listed as being omitted. He epitomises the red n black heartbeat more often than not.
Get off Welsh's back also, he is STILL providing a head held high in the midst of our dismal season.
Team looks like its beginning to learn how to play without Hirdy which is a big step forward in my book...the legend cant push himself any further this season.
Overall, it was a pretty even team effort despite a major lapse in the 3rd.
Hard to get overly excited...it was ONLY the Kangas after all.

Yes. He's not a midfielder. He's a key back in his first game, who beat or broke even with his opponents in most contests for the night.

I thought reynolds continues to show a bit as medium sized leading forward. He just needs to work on his goal kicking.

If he kicked that one in the 3rd to give us a 3 goal lead i think we win. Had this bad 'turning point' feeling when he missed and North promptly slam on a heap of goals to end the quarter.

Not crucifying him, i thought did alright, and gives us a pretty decent target up forward, just needs to work on his kicking for goal.

I'm not sure about Reynolds! A few games at Bendigo for some confidence wouldnt hurt him!

Nah, he just needs a ****load of goal kicking practice. Maybe he should lead tight on the boundry everytime as he seems to be able to kick them from there alright.;)

He certainly has great hands on the lead. He could potentially have had 6 goals in the last two games which is more than decent. Its a shame he's the master of the shank.

Solomon's bump on Sinclair was another positive for me.

Still dont rate Reynolds. Only in the side due to our injuries. A dream would be to give a team Hennes, Reynolds and Carts for a 2nd round draft pick.
Although, that would be like playing GOD n that aint going to happen anytime soon

Round 8? oh that would be the match where the bombers spent more time kicking at Chris Judd than the footy. Yep great comeback
