- Tarrant.

- Really liked the way Duffield looked today.

- Headland is having a good season.

- Hopefully by season's end, Farmer, Collard and Peake will be in there for extra pace and maybe even Drum and Ibbo also. I think it will be so exciting though with Farmer, Collard and Headland mixing it up with Pav, Tarrant and Campbell.

- Murphy looks like he is regaining touch in WAFL

- Hayden continuing on his excellent form.

- Clearances lot better today

Duffman was good. Used the ball well, and took on opponents. He now needs to keep it up.

Today I did a bit of a double take....Duff moves a bit like Judd... I thought.
If he can get some more game time get some confidence in his ability his star will rise.

We can beat a inform team without Pavlich firing.
pav was triple teamed today. takes the best defender & then some .freed up tarrant & allowed campbell to sneak his 4 goals. dont underestimate pavs influence.

Tottally agree with you dock, perhaps thats why he doesn't chase back hard because he will free up the extra man to the midfield instead of making stay back in the fifty. At the ground I cant remember too many times he didnt get too the ball without at least two defenders with him and am I right in saying at times in the first qtr when it was bombed in there where three.

Good points, he becomes the decoy.

Who ever would have though the Big Croat would become a decoy for a Kiwi and an ex Colliwobble.

Dokervic - fully agree. Teams are starting to play three (3) defenders on Pav which is freeing up others. Haz and the Kiwi were good too.

Do not forget CC great coaching and moves. Helped get the boys focused.

We have a few players down in form from the 2006 run, but felt positive that it is starting to happen again. Can feel the momentum starting to build as per the 2006 run. We can roll Geelong.

IMO:

11/13 wins = spots in the 5 to 8 on the ladder.
14/16 wins = top 4 on the ladder

15 games left and 3 already won. Top 8 a certainty and top 4 very achievable with the great team and coaching staff we have.

Out of curiosity, what were a couple of those "great coaching moves"?

We'll need a very strong percentage to finish fourth with 14 wins.

Dominguez -Firstly got selections changes spot on by bringing in the right four (4) to suit a Hawks game. Selecting Campbell, Gilmore and Walker are out standing decisions. Leaving Warnock out after Brisbane trip was a good move too.

Secondly - We were getting clobbered in the first quarter and CC went man on man and we got back in the game.

Thirdly - interchanges and match-ups well managed.

I think 14 wins is going to get us there abouts in top four. Season is very even and there are going to be a lot of upsets and surprises. We have a few percentage booster games coming as we have played most of the better teams.

The hawks did the same thing against Jon Brown in the first match of the season. Kept Brown to about 3 kicks, but lost the game because the other forwards got space. Sometimes having a great forward just allows the other forwards to shine.

From Leigh Matthews after that match:

"It was pretty hard (for Brown). He had two blokes on him. But what that did do was enable us to have a player further up field. Any team that double teams Jonathan Brown makes it hard for Jonathan Brown but that doesn't necessarily mean they are going to win the game."
