Hang on mate, we just got pumped by a team that has won 1 out of 18 games this year, and the same team that was beaten by 12 goals the week before. I think all Collingwood supporters have the right to be p***** off at the moment, considering we are playing for a top 4 position. As a member, who pays for their membership each year, l don't expect to pay for crap like that. if yiou are happy with mediocrity, then thats you. You see teams like West Coast, Sydney, Port Adelaide wouldn't, thats why they are successful teams. At Collingwood performances like this are accepted to easily, that's why we struggle.

I'm far from happy, but screaming for the blood of the players firstborns isn't going to help.

If you were offered 6th place after 19 rounds on March 1st this year would you have taken it?

Not prepared to write us off just yet gents :thumbsu:

I'm not a fair weather and I'd prefer we didn't have so many of them.

So we're playing a bit of inconsistent footy, but things aren't decided in August.

So positives?

Davis was good and continues to provide spark, the thing I liked about him tonight was that those are the sort of games where he tends to go missing. Not tonight.

Thomas sparked us a bit, but the boys were tired. I think any thoughts of resting this kid should be put to bed.

Goldsack continues to be hard at it, if there is contested footy to be won, he will get it.

Bryan's ruckwork improved. Unfortunately, with Foley the clearance king not getting a decent tag it didn't have an impact.

Rhyce Shaw is coming into form, his run is vital and his disposal has improved dramatically.

Toovey and Licuria put their spots on the 2008 list beyond doubt, both have to go. Along with Nicholls and hopefully Richards, thats frees up 4 spots.

Clement will be better for the run, and Clarke should be well rested, though I don't agree with him being rested at all.

Then to come into the side we have the great man Buckley, Pendlebury who should really help with our clearance play, Rusling could come in to add an exra dimension to the forward line. Didak should be coming into a bit more match fitness and getting over 'the incident', Cooky looks well balanced and polished and Marty Clarke will be back asap.

Also not sure why Cox was omitted, every time he gets dropped I'm very surprised. He's impressive.

I agree 100%...
There are a lot of people now running around with their hands waving like loonies screaming "We're shit", "it's all over" some but not all of these people were posting "we're gunna kill em by 20 goals" threads and their minds have now thrown a circuit breaker to protect them from their own
embarrassment.

In case no-one remembers Richmond have made tradition of beating us no matter where they are on the ladder...go have a look at the record over the last 10 years.

But the most important thing to understand is Collingwood did not get beaten by a crap team playing crap football, they got beaten by a team that played very good, accountable footy, which took risks that payed off.

If you're gunna get all sooky and demand coachs heads and this or that player should go every time a team in Richmonds position beats the Pies then you should probably have a look at supporting someone else.
I been doing it for a long, long time and it is as much a part of Collingwood Footy Club as Lou Richards, Peter Daicos and Darren Millane.

The positive is Richmond played better than they have all year so yes we lost to the clearly bottom team but they were better than that tonight and I am sure tigers fans will draw some positives out of that - by God they need some after this year.

For the Pies Leon is going well, Medhurst is finally showing something, the Shaws are always good.

Unfortunately our midfield for the last 4 weeks is atrocious - probably the worst in the comp. It is glaringly obvious Pendlebury is a massive key to our midfield. We cannot win finals with that midfield, our backs & mids are OK but our mids & rucks are rock bottom at the moment.

How do we improve? Need Fraser fit he has been carrying niggles for a good while now. Pendles to come in, Didak has to go in the middle as we role the Medhurst dice up forward. Leon needs to come thru the middle more as well. Swan? What is wrong with him? Since the Cats game he has been woeful - we need him back to somewhere near his best. Johno is sorely out of touch too. It can be turned around but it has to start in the middle.

Positives:
1. I think Cook shows a lot of poise, I like him.
2. Dale Thomas is a gun.
3. Toovey made end of season delistings a little easier tonight by putting up his hand.
4. Bryan competed to some extent. I think his effort on game day exceeds his efforts on the training track, and it shows.
5. Leon Davis was very good, can't help it if his targets can't finish
6. Goldsack continues to throw himself in with abandon
7. Rhyce Shaw showed quite a bit
8. Clarke, Buckley, Didak, Cox and Pendles to return before finals start

no positives. should of beaten us by 100 points.
you guys are pretenders.
Not pretenders just not good enough to make the finals!Tigers were always going to beat collingwood!the magpies cockiness to rest clarke, they had to win to consolidate, but the wobbles set in,Malthouse has to go!!so does buckley, licuria, toovey, richards, wakelin and prestigiacomo! The rebuild starts now no finals action for at least 2 more years for the pies:(
