The Herald Sun is reporting that a ticket is being prepared to boot the present board. Considering how inept they have been I guess that doesn't come as a huge surprise. To be honest I think it would be a good thing mainly because it would mean bringing unity back to the club and the impression of a fresh start.

There are some cons.
  1. Elliott seems to be a bit of a puppet master behind the scenes. He is a major part of the reason we are where we are. His presidential style for its last few years was out of step with modern football, as were his business practices. You just can't go out and buy a team anymore you need to build one. Not to mention the dodgy stuff.
  2. The ticket would be anti Pagan and if money is available it would be better used retiring debt rather than paying out his contract.
  3. Any change would reinforce the view that we are a rabble and would involve another policy shift.
  4. A challenge would hamper contract negotiations that are on-going with some key required players.
  5. You will alienate the factions that dumped board members represent
  6. Some of the tricks used by this group have been underhanded and have hurt the club they proclaim to love. They are also associated with the dodgy practices that have us where we are.
The Pro's
  1. It would be impossible for Pagan to have the same passion for the job considering how he has been treated. The present board lack confidence in him which means he can't do his job anyway. So sacking him if a new group have the funds to do so may in fact be the best thing. Players would also at least in the short term gain a boost in morale as a new coach with new ideas always brings enthusiasm. Pagan would probably be relieved.
  2. A new board who are all on the same page would at least bring a sense of unity and common purpose to the club.
  3. Smorgan would be gone. He has shown he is not a leader and after getting the job he schemed for he can't handle it. He reminds me of when Downer was Liberal leader. Every time he opens his mouth he puts his foot in it.
  4. Smorgan would be gone
  5. Smorgan would be gone:D
  6. A fresh start may entice those players after a move to stay at the club.
  7. A number of Blues alienated by the post penalty cleanout may come back to the club.
  8. A new board of passionate Carlton people could only be a good thing especially if one of our big name wealthy fans comes on board.
  9. The present board come across as dills. New people if they have enough stature will help us attract sponsors again. The present people could not possibly convince anyone that their sponsorship would be value for money as they don't have a clear vision for the club.
Just a couple of thoughts and nowhere near a comprehensive list of pro's and Con's. Not to mention that the whole story could be a media beat up again and a challenge may not even eventuate:eek: . As we all know the media always print the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth:D
