Very funny. What life do you have if you are posting a thread like that on the carlton forum. seriously, i think i speak on behalf of all blues supports when i say that we dont need your input on our forum.

Aker is the Campo of this draft. I would do you a straight swap for Mcgrath, that's it though.

I'd do it but the club have already said they are looking at youth only so it is unlikely. I guess getting Cory and Ash together removes the possibility of Ash going elsewhere, so the logic for Brisbane would be there. Half of our supporters reckon that McGrath is not in our long term plans anyway so for them it would be a few years worth of Aka magic and all we have to do is downgrade our second pick five spots.

I was curious when I saw Aka and Fev on Family Feud together because I thought I saw Fev commenting somewhere about not needing Aka at the club. I might be mistaken. If we had another player capable of running the lines and kicking goals from 50 not to mention the odd front and centre snap, I think we would go close to the 8 next year.

Judging by the response you got, I assume you said something derogatory about our mothers but edited it before I got here ... tsk tsk.

Hmmm... how about this deal...

You give us Aker and pick 23 and we will give you prender and pick 18 :D ;)

Corey might not have Aker's flair, but he is a hardworking player and while it is good to have a lot of stars in your team, the team really needs those guys who are just there putting in thier bit week in week out... the guys who does that little bit that applies pressure on the opposition that helps make the stars look the goods...

The best example I can think of where there are not enough team players and to many stars is Real Madrid... the Glacticios... what have they really done over the last couple of years with all their stars and no team players...

It's the un-sung team players that makes a team IMHO...

I think that we'll keep Corey...
 
If we had an extra 2nd round pick (we will most likely not) I would definitely go for that trade.

However, we wont, so I'd rather spend our 2 picks in the top 20 very wisely on long term players for the club.

But if we had say pick 17 & 19 or 18 & 20, yeah giving up 1 of those picks (eg. 19 or 20) & Corey would be fine with me !

Aker>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mcgrath, and the different between pick 17, 18 or 19 and 23 is no where near this much. Aker would bring so much experience, winning mentality and also take pressure of other midfielders. He is also one of the hardest working, fittest midfielders in the AFL. Dosnt drink, smoke or anthing... which all our latest draftess do!!

Wish this trade occured, but is simply wont.

There's no way Brisbane would take that deal, and I reckon Aker will go to Melbourne anyway. Aker has at least another 3 - 4 good years in him I reckon. A more suitable trade would be Miller and 1st round pick for Aker.

As good as Aka is, I just don't think he'd be the right sort of person to come to the club at the moment. We are hell bent on getting as many kids to the club right now, and Aka certainly doesn't fit into that category.

Cory M has really stood up T/Y and is playing as good football as he has ever played really

Having said that I would take that trade in a flash

People cannot seriously think that Aker would not be of benefit to our young group, would add to our publicity, be a drawcard. He'd be sensational and haven't even commented on his on field contribution.

Having said that the above trade is heavily in Carlton's favour so will not happen.

I think Aka is a star and would be of real benefit to our side. But, I still wouldn't want the club to trade for him. No matter the trade there is still a cost involved, that cost could be the player you trade or the young gun who gets picked up with the selection you trade but most importantly it is the effect it has on the group as a whole. Trading a player because he wants to return home is one thing, but to trade a well liked player for a so called star (cattle for cattle) can be very disruptive to the team dynamic.

Sorry wouldn't trade for him. PSD only.

I doubt that very much,
you got the spoon last year and your still bottom 15-16,
I think Carlton would be very desperate..

I'm sure there is some chit-chat within the Carlton draft/recruiting team on who they could trade up for him,
but yes,he might end up at Essendon..

The fact that they haven't thought about it..
that's what I doubt very much.
