Ok I admit it o'bree was great although I stil think he turns it over to much.
McGough and Holland were excellent.
Cam Cloke needs a helmet and soon.
Dane Swan continues to show up higher profile players with no fanfare.
Guy Richards did damn well considering he was a late call in and our sole ruckman.
Ben Kinnear should never play again.
I like Woey but he was terrible.
Why does Burnsy's hamstring hate us so much?
I think we could have won if we showed a bit more poise in front of goal.
Next week is our chance to really prove that we are not last on the ladder material.

Let's get will and Bk in a crap off to see who is the best worst player at the pies.

Williams is a triple Brownlow medallist compared to Kinnear.

We had gutsy losses in the mid '80's........

It was raining floaters, 2 on 1's and kicks to the oppositions advantage on both sides.

The skill level of both sides was up to the standard of the Footscray/north melbourne game at canberra on saturday.

Just like that game, desperation and intensity off the scale, but the order of the day was crap field kicking(kicking to 2 on 1 contests or kicking to oppositions advantage), inability to execute effective tackles at key moments, poor decision making, and poor positional competency at crucial moments in the game which made it one you would NOT show the U13's as an instructional video on the skills of the game.

What pussed me off the most was bugger all effective tackles at key points in the game.
It was weak as puss the number of pats on the bottom Portaloo players received as they idly minced by our fellas who looked like spooked wall flowers frozen by the fear of getting their frocks dirty.
Except for Swans (????) tackle from behind, where he (or whoever) dived, league style and grabbed the opponents waist and brought him down.

And because he went for the waist you avoid the 'in the back' ruling.
That saved a goal. Unlike Johnson on Surjan. The 'failed tackle gods' wreaked their revenge on Johhno.
Is it a fear of scraping their knee's or bumping their elbows on the ground that stops them from executing diving tackles?????
Yet they'll dive in to be first to a ball or to attempt to take a mark.

I agree Ranter. I think our tackling has reached an all time low. The inability of our players to make tackles and their seeming disinterest in trying to tackle really annoys me. I want to see hard desperate players every week.

The mighty mick was always such a stickler for crisp crunching tackles at the weagles.

And it kept us competitive throughout the last two seasons.

I just can't understand how that which was our bread and butter has been allowed to go stale and rancid.

I think tackling is a sign of confidence.

When the team is going great their are brilliant crunching tackles from every player, everywhere, putting the fear of every god known, into the opposition who constantly look over their shoulder and rush everything they do.

when confidence is down that sure, exhuberance and belief that I will tackle this guy and he will not get the ball away effectively and make me look foolish, is missing.

the fear that 'if I commit myself totally he may get the ball away and I'll look bad, and let my team down. So I better keep my feet and not commit myself to a teeth chattering tackle".
