Surely there are far worse picks than VB? Soft draw and scored well in the back half of last year.

Some of the choices clearly will be changed as round 1 starters become more clear..Some of them are 'place holders' to indicate how much money I might like to spend. If rookies of similar or lesser value are starters, then that leaves me money to upgrade to more reliable 2nd tier players. And I like that people think van Berlo is a risk, hopefully few teams in my leagues will have him. I reckon he represents good value.

WHat exactly is so stupid about marty clarke as a pick this year

Are you going to judge him on a half of footy that he has played in the pre-season. WHat if he comes out tonights and scores and 85-90.

Are you concerned about his scoring potetntail or JS

I had some similar thoughts. Sloan seriously could have a break out year and become a premium player before round 11 and be Either traded or rotated onto the bench. I see possibilities. Scotland may be an injury risk at that price, but he is tempting me. To me Pendles and Scotland can be replaced with slightly cheaper players and upgrade more of the 'almost stars' with more consistent DT scorers.

Why no love for Coad and Caddy?

Coads arguably not best 22. Not a high scorer either. I'd prefer a rookie over Coad, someone like Bugg/Darly/Ellis will score more than Coad while being a whole lot cheaper

Caddys priced way to high. Plenty of rookies for $100,000 less that will score similar if not more

My initial team was just Prems and Rooks, but I've added in mid price guys I reckon will go up in value (like Caddy, Coad, Conca, Porplyzia) to upgrade later on.

Coad will not go up in price. Ellis/Darly/Bug/M Clarke, at least 3 of the 4 have better job security, will score more points and are cheaper. I dont see the confusion?

Caddy will go up a little in price but why wouldnt you go someone $100,000 cheaper say a Coniglio if you wanted the 100% job security who will score similar points. If you want more risk, if Lachie Neale is best 21 for Freo he will score similar points to Caddy and is $150,000 cheaper

Try to find some lower priced players, who will make similar scores and find inn value mid 400k players with couple tip top premos

Yeah Gibson has every right to be considered by any dream team coach. Needs to get upgraded first though.

The roos have room for 2 upgrades from what i know.

I've had Dangerfield the passed 2 years and he's just let me down on the scoreboard. Great player but not good for DT in my opinion. Knights can rack em up when he gets on a roll.

Get rid of Frost and you have a lot of risky mid-pricers. Nothing wrong with mid-pricers, necessarily, but it's hard to see many of those working out.

West is an odd pick, when there are rucks of similar price who are likely to score much better. It's fine to back your judgement in, but reconsider a few of those players IMO.
