Wouldn't be too bad a result to get one of Butcher / Scully ... both damn impressive (elite potential) and exactly the kind of players our list is lacking ... dynamic clearance midfielder and an athletic key forward. Clearly the 2 best players in this draft at this point.

I'd like to see Lucas improve his inside game this year ... proved in previous years he's a very good runner, outside ball winner and user and will work very hard both ways, just needs to at that bit extra to be mixing it with Scully and Butcher for mine.

Not sold at this stage on Duncan (at least not as a first rounder) ... has a solid all-round game without anything that stands out, but I think he'll probably end up a utility (wingman/flanker) rather than owning a position.

Morabito has some freakish ability (190+ and explosive), has been playing a tall wingman role, which I think suits him best ... big fan of him from last year and looking forward to getting a chance to see him this Monday.

Hutchings would be good value for us (I'm guessing 2nd round at this point in time) ... a bit on the slow side, but is a genuinely footy smart inside mid that get's his hands on it first at stoppages and uses it cleanly by hand and foot, and will likely have more senior experience behind than Rich, when he goes into his 1st AFL season. Crichton looks good value too ... very skinny, but sticks his head over it, wins it in close and has plenty of X-factor to boot.

Liked what I saw from Priest in the TAC Cup GF last year ... particularly his explosiveness and creativity at moving the ball from congestion ... only problem is his height (low 170s).

I've also heard some good things from the Vics RE: Jack Fitzpatrick (key forward ... raw as **** when I saw him last year), Koby Stevens (midfielder) and Jake Melksham.

Will be good to get an early look at some more of the AIS kids before the Sydney game on Anzac day and the SA kids in the U18 game before the Richmond game in a month and a bit ... worth getting to those games early folks.

Yeh it was in the seniors. He was about 17/18 running half back for West Perth. Got caught holding the ball a few times through over exubarance but appart from that looked very good.

Hutchings reminded me of the alot of Deboer and had a mature body with good decision maker with skills to match. Duncan looked a special player very eye catching.

I see there is a Kickett in there. Haven't seen him but Freo has to get him!

I think you're referring to Lewis Harvey there freodog. 19 yo from country. Very, very good prospect for WP though.

Not having seen Kane Lucas or Morabito more than once or twice I can't comment, but Hutchings is very impressive. Of those I have seen a fair bit of, I rate him very highly from the WA boys.

I'd be rapt to get him with a second rounder, the way he's shaping up, but I think he's one likely to slip to exactly where you say, flies under the radar. I'm with you on Duncan as well.

Kane Lucas is the only name we should be looking at, as long as Melbourne don't get picks 1 and 2.

Crap I forgot that was a possibility . Kane Lucas will be a great player IMO he is just what we need a midfielder with great precision. Though even with picks 1 and 2 they could take Scully and Butcher even with the addtion of Watts I still think they need another KP Forward.
