Strengths: (Most of this info is Post-drafting)
-Leadership ability
-extremely competitive
-versatile (not because he isn't good enough to play one position)
-superb athlete and is willing to run and present all day long (a beep test of 14 shows his endurance ability is top notch- from the 2008 combine)
-reasonable kicking (not elite by any means but its ok)
-presents as a forward
-developing as a back

Weaknesses:
-decision making can be a little iffy at times (but its pretty good most of the time)
-still developing
-I'm sure there are more but I can't think of any ATM\

No Way would GC trade Gorringe, The kid was a high draft pick that showed a hell of alot more in his 1st year than most ruckman do in 3 years.

Quality Player

yeah i know, just shocked that the spud jurno would list him as a trade bait .

It's just whether he's excess to needs and could be used in a trade to fill a more pressing need.

They've already got a gun ruckman in Smith who'll be around for 8-10 years and it's not as though they're short on key forwards with Lynch, Dixon and Day, who could all probably pinch hit in ruck if required.

Gorringe is our second ruck, no doubt about that. Why he was re-signed a month or so ago for an extra couple of years.

When Fraser goes, the ruck will be Smith/Gorringe. Gorro is second in line, and will be getting games every week if he's fit. Dixon, Lynch and Day are all tall, but they can't ruck to save their lives. :D Dixon gets demolished even in the 2s in this area.

Not the best journalism, since the Suns will do everything they can to hold onto him. Got it right with Hickey though, but maybe he should have list Nicholls with him. Both of them are rucks, who are behind the pace with Gorringe and Smith there.

I think Day could potenitally play the KPF/ 2nd ruck role quite well, but I wouldn't say it will be best role.

Zmith / Gorringe is a pretty tall combo and doesn't really fit with the sub rule imo.

I have heard it expressed that Clayton wasn't as hot on Gorringe as others at GC, or other many recruiters. I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded at some stage. Might be a savvy move.

Would certainly be surprised, that's for sure!

Gorringe was very impresive this year & will demand a very high pick to secure. Would love him at richmond but i believe he is a SA boy so the chances of him coming to melbourne would be just about 0.

Port could do alot worse than gorringe for pick 6 if the GC are serious about trading him. Would be a good get.

Would there be any interest in Jordan Lisle or Shane Savage as part of a gunston deal? I would assume Lisle is a strong possibility to be traded but not sure of savage's status? Could be good as h/f rotating through midfield-kind of an upgraded douglas?

Ive been shot down a few times for suggesting a savage trade. The hawks supporters aren't interested in trading quality for quality. :D

Michael Walters from Freo has been linked to an Adelaide club according to The West Australian. I can only assume it's ours because Port are chasing Ebert and (potentially) Griff and will probably struggle to meet the WA clubs' needs as is.

Fairly certain he was mentioned in Part 1 of this thread to mixed reception. I, for one, would entertain the idea as a possible replacement for Armstrong. Likewise, I see Lynch as a potential replacement for Gunston. PS - not saying either of these as like-for-like in terms of talent, all is purely positional.

Don't mind him but the player I would want is Bollenhagen. Bollenhagen is said to be a freak around the goals but lacks a defensive action.

I too believe that it is us that is likely to be interested in Michael Walters as he is a small forward with massive upside

His 3 goals against Hawthorn in last years Elimination final is an example what this lad can produce however injuries have restricted him this year

Absolute gun, would be pick 2 in mini draft. Reminds me a bit of Hill from Freo

Won't go pick 2. JOM is probably going to be pick 1, Brad Crouch is a significantly better prospect than Taylor and more appealing for the Vic teams, Kennedy is probably the next best prospect in demand, following that comes Taylor most likely. He will be a gun but he probably won't get selected in the mini draft. I predict him to slip through into next years draft, maybe he can even push into the top 10 prospects for 2012.

My predictions for tradeweek:

We will trade Maric, Gunston and Armstrong and some draft picks to other teams for different players and draft picks. There is a slight chance that another Crows player will also be traded.

Supporters from all teams involved will be outraged that they gave up too much, while other fans will gloat that they got a bargain. A third group will think that both parties won.

Some BF posters will go overboard and get yellow/red carded.

There will be a brief respite and then draft week will be upon us.

Does anyone know the name of the young aboriginal player (I think he was aboriginal) playing for SA in the U/18 National Championship this year. He was pretty skinny but looked elusive and kicked a couple of goals and seemed to get plenty of the ball.

Talent to burn but apparently has some attitude issues.

Also Freo supporters say he's slow, which I've never noticed.

He's the kind of pick up you'd want at the right price.

Josh Simpson. He is only 17, can be taken in the mini draft, but he won't. Probably about 6-7 in front of him atm.
