Re: Potential Trade Targets

Gunston to Carlton
Lucas to West Coast
Ebert to Adelaide
Not a bad suggestion but if Gunston becomes the player we think he has the potential to be Carlton would win that trade.
What about a separate trade for Ebert?

Re: Potential Trade Targets

Not sure that we'd have anything of value for West Coast.

The above sounds pretty good; not perfectly even, but not disastrously unbalanced for anybody.

Sub Ebert for Hurn and that would balance it nicely;)

Re: Potential Trade Targets

Too many other clubs will be interested in him (GWS I would say for example) for us to be able to pay him enough to chose our club over another Melbourne club.
We'd only go for Dawes if Tippett was traded. And then we could just pay him half of what Tippett is on, and that would be all good.

Re: Potential Trade Targets

But GWS would be able to offer him much more then we would so we wouldn't win. :(

Re: Potential Trade Targets

If we lost Gunston to gain Ebert i would be devastated.

So would I just dont see Ebert improving his game by more than 10% wheras Gunston with more weight will improve his game by 50% plus he's a forward, defender and midfielder ala Goddard in a few years

Re: Potential Trade Targets

Damien Barrett just said on TFS dan conners is looking to pursue his career elsewhere. Got me thinking an exchange for Maric could be on the cards, particuarly with your half back line- Johncock is probably your only decent defensive rebounder down there and with doughty and reilly on the way out shortly as well as armstrong and tamblings inconsistent performances, conners could be a nice fit. he was excellent for us last year but had a year to forget with injury this year. so how about it Maric for Conners?

Do not need nor want. Jaensch was having a break out year till Davey tunneled him, and Brodie Martin struggled coming back from injury but his last 2-3 games in the SANFL were excellent which gives me hope. We don't need some undisciplined drunk on our backline thank you very much :)

I actually like the look of Daniel Connors. Had a very decent 2010 for the Tigers, and is only 22. I too have concerns about his 'discipline', but a change of environment may do him some good (cliche alert!!)

Re: Potential Trade Targets

Pass on Connors.
As others have previously stated we have Jaensch, Martin and Shaw who can play the same role as Connors. If he's not delisted Roach can also play across half back.

Had to be done.

for what its worth he played his best football after that incident and has kept himself out of trouble all of this year, despite frustratingly being stuck on the sidelines. as another poster said hes only 22 and all the other players you mentioned are completly unproven, injury prone and about to be delisted. i do like Jaensch, he showed some good signs last year but he alone is not the answer
