Have just heard Krakouer has done his knee in the practice match, can anyone verify this ?

Re: Practice Match Vs Geelong: Krakouer

The media is reporting a knee but we all know how accurate their reporting of our injuries have been this preseason. This is the quote from Swooop who was at the game:

Qtr started with Krak winning the centre clearance and kicked forward for KP to get his goal.
Unfortunately Krak was bumped as he kicked it and landed awkwardly on his ankle, but the injury looked very much low end of the scale, as after hopping around on his ankle for a bit came straight off, but had stopped limping by the time he got to the boundary.

Probably won't see him again today as they take no risks with him.

Mooney did similar a few mins later, looked slightly worse than Krak's, but he's already back on and did some very nice things.

We'll have to wait and see I guess but doesn't seem too serious.

Re: Practice Match Vs Geelong: Krakouer

I'm really worried for his mental state now. If he was struggling beforehand...

Re: Practice Match Vs Geelong: Krakouer

Disappointing news. In fact, shattering.

LARS has to be considered here you would think. He is 29 years old so not like he is on the young end of the scale.

Great opportunity for someone like Jamie Elliot to step up though.

Dropping like flies atm. For the rest of the NAB, we should play the VLF 2nds team.
His scans were done quicker than anyone I can remember.
I didn't think it would be diagnosed until Monday at the earliest.

Wow, that's a big blow. I guess someone like Fasolo will be locked into the side now. Hopefully Didak is fully fit for round 1 too. It's unfortunate Macaffer & Krakouer both play in the forward line, but I guess if you look to 2011 Davis didn't play there, Macaffer barely played there and Didak was well under par, so it's not too different.

Considered, but I think if the club is confident he'll be playing in 2013 then he'll go the traditional route. I guess like Macaffer it's unfortunate that he's also coming out of contract at the end of the season.

Great comment, Macaffer was hopeless last year when he played and Krakouer will be a big loss but some of the kids coming through will boost the side!

Paine, Yagmoore and elliot will play important rolls.

I'd like to see Reid or Nathan Brown used up forward as the third tall!

This would be where you'd consider LARS, but it's press seems to be getting worse all the time.

With LARS he could be back be round 12 or so.

You need to look at all the issues in each individual case, and one of the things that may be factored in here aswell as the usual things, would be how Krak is travelling with this news on top of his very recent issues.

It could be that he will be devastated even more than normal by this news, but on the other hand ( I know this will sound strange) it potentially could almost come as a relief, if the other matters are yet to be fully resolved, which is quite possible.

If the former, then LARS does come into the frame.

Re: Practice Match Vs Geelong: Krakouer

Second time here in a week and for the same reason.
Poor news on Krakouer and another f...ing knee, after the tough time he's already had.

All the best to the boys doing it tough.
Once again another player shattered through a player diving for the ball and pinning a players ankle - until the AFL do something about the stupid high hit rule this will continue.

Re: Practice Match Vs Geelong: Krakouer

Simply cannot believe it. He really could be considering his future now, he is nearly 30. Hopefully some young bloke can step in and do the job!

Re: Practice Match Vs Geelong: Krakouer

Shattering news.:(

Just play the kids, 2012 from a premiership view point is starting to become a write off.:(

VFL Players Might get a Run;)
