Practice Matches

Just a little parochialism for you Gary the ultimate fence sitter, and a little bit from me just to let you know monbulk missed just a few hacks from its senior side last saturday dont think they would have made much of a difference but here we go in no particular order:- Tim Wragg, Shannon Koole, Adam Gee, Dave Alenson, Billie Hicken, Chris Waldron, Jason Fraser and Michael Hughson played a quarter and a half after spending three days in hospital that week five of those players would almost be walk up starts to the interleague squad.
Also the club had four under eighteens playing their first match one of which kicked six goals. So there is actually close to half the side missing also devers and mullinder played in the twos as well as starting in the ones. Bit of inside infor for you boys lots of love from the hawks nest.

Not sure why the miffy, but who was missing from Boronia's list?
If we knew, then the result might have some meaning.
But as I said, the results in practice matches aren't much of a guide, really. Coaches are experimenting with balance, recruits, positions and just trying to fill a side. They have little interest in who wins.
My point is that there is not much to be gained by saying that we had half a side missing. It really doesn't matter much. There is more interest in a report on how the recruits, rookies or the sides' game plans performed.
Your report fills a few of those gaps. Thanks!
Who was the kid who goaled heavily? Do any of the rookies look like being regulars this year? What's happening with the ruck division?
Good to see Devo back! He'll give Luke some flexibility on the ground.
Fence sitter = mugwump. I'll live with that!

Wertz, ruck we might call workmanlike mullinder and bartlett have shared in both practice matches and done reasonably well but there not 6 foot 6.
I know practice matches don't mean much but supporters who want to know how the team is shaping up may need to know we had half a side against a team we traditionally beat easily. Apart from that still good numbers at training and one really good hitout before the real stuff starts.

Wow! Wertsies development has been nothing short of sensational. Hope the kid keeps it going. Deano is going well in the VFL, I take it. His class will be missed in the comp and Barts and Lump will work hard, but as you say, they are not 6'6". Good numbers on the track. Are they using the 'G' now?
Point taken re: if players are missing from a game the supporters need to know. But it isn't ALL they need to know. As you say, they want to know how the teams/players are also shaping up. Thanks for the heads up on some other details.
