Are we going to be involved in the PSD this year? Maybe have a go at Clark Keating? Assuming we delist a few more players now considering we have a hell of alot of Ruckman on the list now with Kosi, Gardner, Brooks, Rix, Ackland & Blake.

Kent Kingsley maybe???

i will no longer support the St.Kilda footy club if we waste anything on that hack. i Swear to god he is by far the most overrated player maybe not by far :) but he is ****:thumbsd:

I would be hesitant to delist ruckman. We should keep and develop them like other clubs have managed, PA and WCE. All as fairly young or new so have many years left to mature.

We are not going to delist anyone else. They are all contracted.

According to Thommo, that is.

Most liklely get shot down for this but here goes:

I reckon the saints would be very smart in recruiting matthew bishop this draft, will add depth to that backline and will certainly help in your tilt for a flag over the next few years.

Maguire will struggle to get back to his best early on in the year, Hudghton is a superstar... but gets killed by the monsters and cant do everything. Sammy fisher and leigh both good players. Gram and Goddard are great attacking weapons. But i feel you need one more tall defender (Penny would do it, lol)

Thoughts?

I won't shoot you down but I'll disagree with you. I haven't seen a lot of him play over the past few seasons but most Port supporters have been scathing in their criticism.

I do think we could do with another tall defender but anyone that came in would have to improve our list. He doesn't really fall into that category.

Yeah fair call, to be honest havnt seen ****loads of him playing lately either.
Just would hate to see Goddard having to play defensive! lol

The Preseason Draft is in December.

It is held after the National draft, and after the 2006 player contracts are complete.

It contains some undrafted youth from the National Draft and players whose contracts have not been renewed with their AFL clubs.

It would take a planet sized computer to accurately predict who will be available, let alone drafted in this, before the National Draft has even taken place.

I think we need to groom a full forward or get a ready made full forward in the pre-season draft. Not 100% sure whos on offer but the only full forward i can think of and as much as i hate him he may be good for us Kent Kinglsey could be good at St.Kilda if he can get his attitude right and get himself back to the old kent kingsley when he used to put in 100% then he may be worth a punt with G-Train about to finish his career. WOuld be good if Fergus Watts could get himself right and perhaps he could be groomed as a new FF but will have to wait and see on him i guess.

I would also love to see Troy Makepeace at the sainst simply because of his work ethic and he is a hard nut with plenty of talent unlucky not to get more of a oppurtunbity at the kangaroos this year and i belive he would fit in nicley in a back pocket or half back flank.

=Cameron cloke has reportedly been delisted along with jason cloke from Collingwood so i think cameron could be a shot in the PSD. He would be awesome for st.kilda with Macguire likely to take some time to get back on his feet cloke oculd be good at CHB and could obviousley be used in the forward line aswell

Unless we have a specific target, we won't take a player in the pre-season draft.

Don't let me stop you from speculating on what desirable players might end up there, but we seem likely to only have 4 spots available on our list - and we would be most likely to fill those spots using the National Draft (we have to use the first three picks).

We will be taking some rookies - and speculation about these spots might also be of interest.

Matthew Bishop can't handle the gorillas either, so I don't think he would be much chop at helping us next year. Maxie is smart enough to avoid wrestling with the gorillas too much. The only two players Maxie has regular trouble with are David Neitz and Matthew Lloyd. He regularly beats Richo, Tredrea, Fevola, N Brown, O'Loughlin, Tarrant & M Williams.

I think we will either draft three or four players in the National Draft. There may be someone available with our fifth round pick, which I believe is pick 75.

Ben Hart?? Is that an option for say a 2 year deal and cover while goose gets back on track? As eluded to above i would think you guys could use a late pick to address any tall defender problems you have.

Why the hell would we or any other football club want to pick up Matthew Bishop or Ben Hart. Both players are well over 30 and both are past their use by date. Do you really think that port or the crows would have delisted these 2 players if they thought they still had what it takes? the answer is NO we dont want old hacks(bishop) and has beens (hart)

Skipworth could be worth a look; can't see much else that's all that interesting for us. I'm not sure if we have room in the salary cap for a PSD pick.

Skipworth kicked 5 goals in the first quarter of an SANFL match played late in the season. I can't remember if it was a final or not but it was on Fox Footy. Seemed to be the kind of player that is a standout at reserves level but not good enough in the seniors. He has been linked to the Kangaroos and he'll get more of a go there.

We already have Gardiner and Birss. I'd be disappointed if we didn't use our remaining picks on youngsters.
